Just rewatched the Jets game

Quote:There's also the possibility of changing the mindset of the offense. If we kicked and they got the ball at the 20, the Jets *might* have been more aggressive with their playcall knowing that if they just run-run-run, we'd get the ball at a great field position.

Whereas being midfield, they were conservative knowing we'd have to drive the length of the field against their good defense with no timeouts.

The way you wrote that looks like Jacksonville was the team with no timeouts and it was past the two minute warning. We had one timeout left. There was 2:15 on the game clock.

Quote:Anyone who questions the onside kick is a kindergartner

LOL You can say that about anything we do on the field.

I never questioned the onside kick, but that decision would have bitten us in the butt if the Jets got into field goal range.

Quote:Just wondering, why the hell did we try the onside kick after we scored down by 5 with 2:15 left on the clock with one timeout. As we know the kick failed, which led them to punt inside our own 10. If we had kicked it off, the same scenario could of happened but we could of gotten great field position with an easier chance to score.

Its not really a bad call, if you kick it off and never see the ball again then people would say, why didnt we kick the onside kick Gus Bradley sucks

either way works

You can say the same for the onside kick.

This has to be the most contrary group of people ever assembled. No matter what the team does, from onside kicks to no kicks to gold unis, it will uniformly be questioned and panned.

I'm not sure they're a minority. Or, they're just really vocal.

It is a minority. There are 8-10 absolute clown shoes that do nothing but troll this message board all day, every day looking for ways to egg someone on and  to eviscerate this team. They are certainly not emblematic of this fan-base. I would venture to guess most do not even live in Jacksonville and have never been to a game.

Certainly not the guy who has registered with who knows how many user names and does nothing but whine and complain on a message board.

I get your point...but to play Devil's Advocate, given the team's lack of success over the years, have they earned the benefit of the doubt?

Worst to 1st.  Curse Reversed!

Who's whining? Cause i stated my opinion, its a fan message board, thats the point. If you dont like the opinion, dont comment in the thread. Just because someone posts something negative about the team, doesnt make them a whiner, troll or whatever. Has this team really given us a reason to say alot of positives?

It's really come to this?

Some on the board arguing that we shouldn't have kicked an onside kick down five with just over two minutes to play with one timeout. That's not even considering the fact that they didn't have their kicker. What a time to be alive!

I think he's insinuating that we would have utilized a timeout under either scenario.  As a result, we would have no timeouts left when we went on offense.

Myers can barely handle PATs. Can't trust him with onside kicking
