Derek Carr vs Teddy Bridgewater
|
after all the potential qbs that had a "chance" to challenge teddy took a step back this week. derek carr is my dark horse first qb taken. he improved every facet of his game this season. pocket awareness has significantly improved. his deep ball is one of the best ive ever seen in college.

The others took a "step back" in what? Heisman rankings? Yes. Draft boards? Not really. NFL scouts aren't nearly as naive and reactionary as you; they need to see a trend form over several weeks to really shake things up and won't flip out over one bad Saturday.
This is an example of the horrible "horse race" election coverage that has plagued modern politics and has been adapted by the likes of Kiper/McShay for draft buildup. You'll be back on the Manziel bandwagon when he tears up Mizzou next weekend.

Quote:There is no competition here. Teddy is a much better NFL prospect.for now
Quote:for now "For now", lulz. They're both three-year starters. What don't you know about them at this point? Carr and Bridgewater are what they are. They're not improving as players between now and their bowl game. Quote:"For now", lulz. They're both three-year starters. What don't you know about them at this point? Exactly. You'll notice a common thread in these QB A vs QB B for first pick topics.
They All have Bridgewater.
I was wrong about Trent Baalke.
Quote:the combine will help carr a lot What would the combine show us that you didn't already know about Derek Carr? I don't care what Mel Kiper is going to say about his performance there; both he and Bridgewater have a static value of talent that scouts are supposed to peg most accurately in the form of determining their prospect status. Someone like Christian Ponder was pegged inaccurately by Minnesota's talent evaluators, for example. With both having over 30 games under their belts as starters, I'm not sure why the combine is going to factor into your opinion of either. Oh, Carr can bomb it? Cool, we already know that. Factor that into your scouting report right now instead of tomorrow. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!

What's your point? No one has input on who caldwell will pick but we can talk about who we prefer. Are you new to message boards?

It's dumb that your opinions change every week on these players when you could've formed them a while ago without ESPN's help. You were all in on Johnny Manziel before he had a rough game yesterday, even though he's still the same NFL prospect today that he was on Friday. Marcus Mariota was the same prospect after the Stanford shellacking that he was when his team was rolling 80 on the Little Sisters of the Poor, but tons on this board jumped off his bandwagon as soon as the Ducks were about to get shutout. How do you not understand this?it really hasnt changed that much, i was never that high on manziel, i stated several times i would pick him in the 2nd/late first and my preference is still clowney, and i stated in my original post that carr is my "dark horse" to overtake teddy. Still Teddy comfortably...but I think we'd all be lying if we said we weren't tantalized by Carr's upside. Basically the same argument as Mariota but w/ a different package obviously.
