Marshal Faulk Disrespect

Quote:You know I have a theory that they wanted Marriota to win badly. They were in favor of him and wanted to give the Titans love all while burying the jags. A sort of win win for them. Not to mention what's with the Eddie George intro for a jags home game. Lol way to go nfln! So at the end of it all the Jags stole a win and they were salty about it.

Good point.

I watched the intro and appreciated the premise behind what they did but I sat there thinking "Why is Eddie George doing this and not an ex-Jag?" It's like they get it but they don't with the clown show that followed with Eisen and Faulk. Imagine if Eddie and Fred had done that together. Now, that would have been something...

seemed like he was a bit cranky and grumpy. I was half expecting Mooch to pull out a snickers bar," Marshall, youre acting like woody paige, have a snickers bar."

Quote:I actually really liked the Eddie George intro. It's not like he was bashing the Jags. The man was killing it.

"Brady and Manning won't be around forever"

True. But it was a Jags home game. Wouldn't it have made more sense to have John Henderson re enacting the slap or MJD hyping it up? Know what I mean? Like give some love to the home team.

Bingo!! Fred Taylor should've been a part of it at least.

They were promoting Eddie George in Chicago on Broadway.

Not sure Freddy T, or Big John would have spoke so eloquently.

The intro was awesome. Gave me chills.

Well... they did a good job covering up what they wanted by picking the Jags.... all of them hahah

Faulk was hating before the game even started. His prediction was 9-3 Jags. Seems like he's grumpy about something. If I were him I would go home and count some of that money, assuming there's any left.

You really need to lighten up.  People just want to talk Jaguar football and you are bringing unnecessary drama.

Fine but it should've featured a jag. It only makes sense.

Quote:Mariota 22/35  for 212 yards QB rating 82.0

Bortles 21/30 for 242 yards QB rating 91.3

http://espn.go.com/nfl/boxscore?gameId=400791632

Both QB's played average but Bortles' fumble and INT vs Mariota's QB runs was the deciding factor in terms of who played better when it came to the eye test.
Wait... so NOW we use the eye test?

Bortles non fumble? The stopped forward progress no whistle?

The INT was typical Bortles forcing something. There was a check down on that play.

However, our pass rush (WHAT???) disrupted Eminem in the 2nd half. It rattled him.

Walker BAILS that kid out a lot. Lucky him.

I'm not saying the kid is trash. But he is a 2 win, coddled rookie.

If they were to open the game up, he'd be smacked around more, lower his comp % and probably have more picks.

But they don't want to get the kid all messed up. So they are playing it safe. Good for them.

If they don't put the weapons around him to run that west coast stuff... it won't work out for him.

We will see.

Last night, Bortles led his team to a win. And HE brought them back from his mistake... it isn't like we ran the ball every time down their throats.

Bortles was the better QB, yesterday, today, and probably the forseeable future.

It isn't Eminem is bad. It is Bortles is better.

The eye test tells me.

And the stats from last night.

Heck Bortles even had the better rating. Even with the INT and "fumble"

You would need to start from the beginning and see that's all I was doing. But some people see my posts and automatically engage. I didn't start any of this. But I will retaliate.

I get what you're saying.

But scheduling is what it is. I don't think the George spot was planned from the beginning of the season. So this is kinda when the schedule, lining up with this matchup, George being on Broadway and this game on TNF and the "in the race" atmosphere allowed for this to make sense.

Please go read the thread. I made a simple statement and I think it was Jtmoney got bent out of shape.

Well I was confused, you said "delusion some of you guys are" "Mariota plain sux"

Did anyone say Mariota sucks? Specifically. And did more than one person say it?

I was being facetious. Because this thread started and questioned why Faulk thought mariota outplayed Blake. I simply stated that maybe because Blake had 2 turnovers. Something to that effect. All of a sudden I'm getting beaten over the head as if it was my opinion that he was better. I gave props to Blake for the win. But jr money and a few others brought there frustration on me instead of Faulk.

Quote:Well to be fair hes working with what he has. That kid is going to be a problem. You dont think?

I think that he is just ok, and is going to struggle with injuries.

Injuries are a risk for any player. A lot of people thought bridge water would struggle with injuries. But you never know. I remember when flacco came into the league I couldn't believe how skinny he was. I thought he wouldn't last a season. He's pretty durable. What bothers me about mariota is that right now he's accurate on the short passes and knows how to get the ball to his best target. He has a quick release and he protects the ball. The killer is he has the running ability. It's going to be interesting when this rivalry gets reignited with Blake and Marcus. It gives me memories of Brunel and McNair. Hopefully Blake can help us get over the hump this time around.

In regards to the fumble on the QB sneak, he extended his arms, exposing the football, should the whistle have been blown? Yes but it wasnt and he has to secure the ball. Plue he went in high, he would have had a better chance going in low.

The INT as already discussed was bonehead move.

Bortles missed a TD passed to Lewis early in the game, plus there were some other throws he was not set on that were under thrown. The pass while it was a great catch by AR15 was thrown into double coverage.

He also walked into a couple of sacks and did not make the proper blitz adjustments at the LOS.

Mariota moved the pocket pretty well. He made a couple of nice throws to Walker on the flat or on a seam.

He also got Beckham involved as well.

He made a couple of crucial plays with his feet on the TD run and made a couple on 3rd down conversions.

Mariota struggled with making throws downfield, the one pass to Fowler, or Fasano with Gratz covering was behind.

He also rushed through his progression alot in the game and unnecessarily threw too many check downs.

Overall, both QB's were average but the deciding factor was the punt return by Greene.

Mariota didnt make the crucial mistakes, hence looking better when actually watching playing style.
