Marshal Faulk Disrespect

Quote:In regards to the fumble on the QB sneak, he extended his arms, exposing the football, should the whistle have been blown? Yes but it wasnt and he has to secure the ball. Plue he went in high, he would have had a better chance going in low.

The INT as already discussed was bonehead move.

Bortles missed a TD passed to Lewis early in the game, plus there were some other throws he was not set on that were under thrown. The pass while it was a great catch by AR15 was thrown into double coverage.

He also walked into a couple of sacks and did not make the proper blitz adjustments at the LOS.

Mariota moved the pocket pretty well. He made a couple of nice throws to Walker on the flat or on a seam.

He also got Beckham involved as well.

He made a couple of crucial plays with his feet on the TD run and made a couple on 3rd down conversions.

Mariota struggled with making throws downfield, the one pass to Fowler, or Fasano with Gratz covering was behind.

He also rushed through his progression alot in the game and unnecessarily threw too many check downs.

Overall, both QB's were average but the deciding factor was the punt return by Greene.

Mariota didnt make the crucial mistakes, hence looking better when actually watching playing style.
You can think what you want about MM but it's apparent BB5 is the better QB.

All that matters is Bortles won and Mariofluff lost.

Plain and simple.

Mariota played better last night, but overall Blake is better.

We'll agree to disagree on your first point.

I won't touch on every point... but

MM won't make crucial mistakes because the coaching staff takes them out of his hands. There are 0 passes down field and he takes 0 chances. It is part of the reason why he has 2 wins. His wins have come against the softest of competition on D.

BB5 moved this team into position and hit AR15 and JT80 and Hurns on a couple throws he isn't getting credit for because AR15 had a couple jump balls (BTW that is HIS job as the BIG WR)

Greene return was awesome, but I have no doubt Bortles would have moved us into position... the question is....

Was the coaching staff holding back BB5 in the RZ early with the questionable run calls?

I agree Bortles moved into some sacks... but some of that was from the pressure getting to him early and often... sometimes, there was no one open, sometimes he missed a guy.

On the INT there is a check down. On a throw in the dirt he had Lewis coming over the middle and as you mentioned he missed Lewis in the EZ....

It wasn't his best day... but on his best day he is going to have eye popping numbers.

Not sure MM will ever have eye popping numbers.

I know he lit up the Aints... and the Bucs early....

anomalies if you ask me. Kid won't face D's that bad the rest of his career probably lol

There's 2 things that jump out at me in regards to Mariota: 1) he has the fastest release I think I've seen since Marino, and 2) He's a smart player. I was wrong about him, he's going to be a good one. This division has the potential to be loaded with good QBs. Imagine if Houston had done the smart thing and traded up for Bridgewater. Yikes.

Mariota should of been picked on the Telvin deflection. Bortles had an ugly int and the fumble just stinks that he is still throwing some one of the worst ints I've ever seen.

Quote:Wait....

Eminem played better than BB5?

Why? Because he didn't throw an INT?

Because he doesn't have Bortles' weapons?

C'mon man. Eminem dinks and dunks (and gets a lucky bounce or two every game) all the way to 70% comp.

His only TD drive was aided by two PI calls, one of which was not just questionable but downright awful.

And the D bit on a run and he was uncovered on a QB keeper.

Bortles was under CONSTANT pressure from their pass rush.

Bortles came through. He made plays, he gave his guys a chance. And he bounced back from a couple of mistakes (INT, fumble--forward progress or or not, protect the ball)

Eminem isn't there yet. Just because they choose to coddle their young QB and we chose to unleash ours, doesn't make safe betty better.

Yep.

Imagine sitting with that guy at a game. You: We won! TC: So what? Did you see mariota?!?! Guy was ballin to 231 yards and 0 TD's. He even ran for a TD after he opened his presents from the refs. Also I can say whatever I damn well please and I'll keep repeating that line as if someone is keeping me from saying what I damn well please. Got it! You: Yeah, but we won and are 1/2 a game from first in our division. TC: That's nice, but did you see how mariota played? That's what matters.

Hoyer, Mallett, Savage, Yates, and Weeden are all gas

Me thinks they didn't want Carr cause his brother and probably hoping Teddy fell one more spot

I agree in regards to the coaching staff for Tenn holding some of the playbook back on Mariota. Throw out the first game against Tampa, and review all of his remaining games and its clear he has had to learn the fundamentals of playing under center and going through his reads. Also missing Wright and his RB also hurt in this game.

Bortles was able to make a few throws to move the team down field, but their is a specific reason why I feel Fisch does not call passing plays inside of the 10. I feel ever since the Texan game where he threw a INT deep inside the redzone right before the half, I feel that shot his and the coaches confidence that Blake can make the .005 second read into the endzone with tight coverage.

When it comes to redzone play, what I feel opposing teams have done is play the WR's and TE's on inside routes because of BB's poor ability to execute on fade patterns. Last week on the Hurns TD, there was a busted coverage. I wonder could Fisch call a pick/rub play to free Hurns or Robinson for a clear pass into the endzone. That would give him confidence.

At the end of the day, personnel is what will define Bortles and Mariota's careers. If the OL is dominant and can create consistent passing lanes, the QB's can flourish. Cohesiveness with the WR's is also huge.

Quote:That's all I was trying to convey. People were asking why Faulk was touting mariota. I simply explained probably because he didn't turn it over and he had the Titans leading for a while. That wasn't bad mouthing Blake. Some of us are unreal after a win and have no objectivity.
I think it's a developed perception of you as a poster, you seem to always be negative and that has created a perception that everything you say is negative. So when you aren't being negative but just trying to make a valid and logical argument, then it's irrelevant because of how you're perceived.

I'm not saying change, you are who you are, seemingly glass half full and pessimistic, but it is what it is.

I don't get why the NFL doesn't care. He acted like he didn't want to be there and he is getting paid well. Doesn't the NFL care to have a guy be a professional?

He really didn't say anything overly negative though. To everyone not drunk off koolaid and sprinkles it was a fair assessment. Both QBs struggled at various times throughout the game, and both QBs had their flashes of greatness. I think Faulk, as inarticulate as he was, only meant to express his admiration for the way Mariota played and disappointment that Bortles and co. couldn't break out the way everyone has expected them to against a really beat up secondary. They were at home on primetime against a division opponent with 2 wins and this was supposed to be their opportunity to take charge and assert themselves as legitimate competition for the playoffs. I don't think its out of reason to say that Bortles' and the offenses performance was disappointing, nor is it unreasonable to think that Mariota played well despite basically being out there alone on offense.
