What about Blake's run in the 1st quarter? He slid and got hit in the helmet. I clearly saw him shake his head in discuss.

I saw him getting up looking for the call but I actually didnt see a helmet to helmet but I also dont remember a reply either.

The most obvious terrible call was:

 

In the first half, The Titans had the ball with 3:00 left. The play clock ran down and a delay a game was called with 2:20 left on the game clock. The ball was re-spotted, the play clock was reset, and then the game clock started rolling again all the way down to the two minute warning. The Titans were able to run a full minute of game clock without running a single play. If this was called correctly, then teams with the lead would never have to run a play. Just keep getting delay of game calls and run the clock out. 

 

Wow, I'm glad someone else noticed this.   The clock operator started the clock and ran it down to 2:00 without the Titans running a play.   I was amazed.   But no one said anything.   Not the refs, not the announcers, no one on the sidelines.   I am still wondering, how can that happen?  

 

I re-watched it today and the Titans got called for delay of game with 2:15 on the game clock, and after half the distance was marched off, the game clock started up and went down to 2:00.   Everyone just standing around.   What the heck.

Both the game clock and play clock are supposed to stop when a delay of game penalty is called and restart after the ball is placed on the LOS. I have no idea how either of them could have kept running with a flag on the field.

 

You cannot restart the game clock after a delay of game penalty, or else the team with the ball could run out the clock without ever running a play!

I thought the same but it can go both ways. If the penalty stops the clock that can be used as an advantage too.

Okay, I agreed with you, but now I have looked it up, and apparently, the game clock does not stop on a delay of game penalty.

If he was already in the act of sliding, he is giving himself up. Any contact from the defender is a penalty.

I don't know if it showed on TV but the side judge that threw that flag was at least 40 yards away from the play

Another thing that didn't come up on TV because they were on commercial break was Gus Bradley just shredding the refs after that call.  Looked like he was about to blow a gasket out there.

They allow incidental contact on slides all the time, which is exactly what that was.  The defender just kind of fell on him, and gingerly at that.

 

The last 2 weeks, however, Bortles has taken obvious, deliberate head shots that weren't called.  This one, even on the replay I found myself agreeing with the no-call.

 

I still think the worst officiating issue this season so far was "The Clock is Fine" moment when they basically gave the Jets a good minute and a half to decide if they wanted to challenge the Hurns catch or not.  Then you combine that with the Walters REVIEWED "incomplete" pass... ugh.

 

There have been HORRID calls all year.

I was blowing a gasket right there with him.  At that point I actually caught myself pondering if I could manage to run down the 24 rows in section 125 and onto the field, sprint from the NE end zone to the Jag side of the field, punch the side judge in the chops and then sprint back over to the SE end zone and out of the stadium without getting caught.  Then I remembered I am old.
