Wasn't Bradley fired a few weeks ago?   How's he better?

We should be so lucky.

Another huge TMD swing and miss. He used to slobber over how good Chip and Ryan Mallett were gonna be.

Chip and the reason being is this.  Take Robinson for example.  Rodriquez could not run his high powered offense without a option qb back in Michigan.  I believe that is what Phili needs a Newton/Wilson/good running  type of qb.  And until gets that.  His fast paced offense wont work.

Gus on the other hand dont have it where it counts game/clock management.

Quote:Not that Kelly has had far and away better talent, right?

Agreed. Chip Kelly took over an Eagles team that bottomed out in 2012 but largely because of injuries.

My guess is the vast majority of Eagles fans wish Andy Reid was still in Philadelphia instead of Chip Kelly.   Reid is doing a tremendous job in Kansas City despite having a game manager at QB and losing his best Offensive player for the season ( RB J. Charles ).

Chip Kelly's G.M. decisions have caught up to the Eagles.   But from a coaching standpoint,  my major issue with him as a HC in the NFL is his style of Offense leads to the Eagles Defense being on the field far too often.    All of the plays that the Eagles defenders have to log takes it's toll as we are seeing in the present.

Here's the thing about this question and my answer to this is probably going to pop a blood vessel in some of the "hardliners" but whatever.

I don't think that a coach's Win-Loss Record is the end-all, be-all of their effectiveness. Yes, a Professional Coach is expected to win games, but there is a lot more to it than that. A Head Coach is in charge of developing a group of people into a team that works towards a common goal and does so with a toughness that doesn't allow for a drop in enthusiasm, effort, or attitude despite facing undesireable results or circumstances. As Jack Del Rio so succinctly put it, Keep Choppin' Wood.

Now I've seen a lot of Jacksonville blowouts in the past few seasons, but I feel like I've never seen a Gus Bradley coached roster "give up" on a game the way that the Philadelphia roster seemed to do last Thursday. Now, this isn't to say that the team has checked out or that Kelly has suffered the horrid "lost the locker room" circumstance, but the impression I got was that the team had lost faith in his plan.

Does Kelly have a neat little scheme that he uses? Yeah, I think he does but I don't think he's a leader. I don't think he knows how to get people to want to follow him and to have faith in his plan. While Bradley is much maligned by some around here for his positive attitude, I think that it's very evident that the players have shown a commitment towards the Staff that Kelly does not enjoy.

So my answer is, Bradley is. Bradley is a better leader, a.k.a. Head Coach than Chip Kelly.

I'm trying to make myself more informed and less opinionated.

Stop saying whatever stupid thing you're talking about and pay attention to all the interesting things I have to say!

I'll add this bit to the discussion...

Chip Kelly doesn't ever adjust his offense to the players he has. He keeps trying to run the same scheme even if the players dont fit. Thats a really big detractor. Maybe if he had all the right guys, things would be different and he would look great, but he doesn't and that's an issue.

And that's a big part of being a Leader in my book. If you are truly invested in the well-being of the people under you, then you take the time to find out what they do well and what they struggle with. You make it known to them that you are here to make them better players and that they have a place on the team where they can contribute. You don't just start shoving "tabs" into "slots" because that's what the Math tells you is the right thing to do. You do your best to make certain that you are putting the people under you in the best possible condition in order to succeed.

Not quite sure Kelly does that. Heck, there's a lot of NFL coaches that I don't think do that.

I'm trying to make myself more informed and less opinionated.

A better question is "Who is a better coach? Gus Bradley or Patrick Star?"

Kind of sounds like our defense. Gus is going to run the Seattle defense with guys who don't fit.

Kind of agree, kind of think we just don't have the talent there to be very good in any formation.

No pressure, huge falloff at safety, and one lb spot that needs a major upgrade.
