Ode to "Let's talk about"

Quote:Never turn down training your employer is paying for. Never know what you can take from it or when it might help you in a way you weren't expecting.

Absolutely, I was enrolled in the course without any forewarning and although I'm not moaning about the free training per-se, it's more the fact that when it comes to this kind of work, I'm actually pretty dumb! (Or I think I am)... The problem is, I've been in my job 13 years, I joined as an 18 year old and it's all I know.. So to learn something new is daunting... if that makes sense.

80% of what I talk about is nonesense.. the other 25% is made up statistics...

Get em. Everyone that learns something new feels dumb when they start it, don't worry about that part.

Would you like to know the most important thing to personal improvement? Being humble enough to go through the learning process. Wanna know the second most important one? Trusting that you can learn. As Frank Herbert once wrote:

I'm trying to make myself more informed and less opinionated.

Stop saying whatever stupid thing you're talking about and pay attention to all the interesting things I have to say!

Well obviously you can't take a live lesson from a guy that's been dead for almost 30 years!

Man I hope nobody else gets this stomach bug that my wife had, and kindly passed on to me.  I wouldn't put it on my top ten 'to do list'.

Know what I used to dream about as a little boy? Growing up, getting an education, and getting the opportunity to do Computer Based Training all day. ALL. DAY. LONG.

Good thing I have coffee. I mean, who isn't just enthralled when a slide show is used to teach the phonetic alphabet?!

Phonetic alphabet?  Is that like what teenagers use to text each other?

Did too! They were just called "cardboard boxes" back then. We would put lizards in them and pretend that they were Ninjas. Sound familiar?!

My 5 year old son has asked for a Wrestling ring and figures for Christmas.

I'm not a huge Wrestling fan (I was in the early-mid nineties), but I can't wait to get this!

Not that I'll know who any of the Wrestlers are nowadays.
