All this negativity over a win has changed me. It's made me more negative.

1. I hate Teddy Bridgewater now. I cringe at his name now. I hated typing his name.

Actually it happens quite frequently in pro sports, mostly in the NBA, but more recently the NFL is beginning to follow suit.

Are these NBA teams inserting players to make sure they lose games? Or to commit fouls to keep their starters from fouling out? I can see doing this to get THAT kind of desired result. But doing this to lose I just cannot see.

NBA GM's intentionally make trades and amnesty players for future assets and younger, less proven players with the intention of tanking. In addition, they will hold guys out for long periods of time with mysterious injuries, or even play guys out of position (Oladipo) all with the intent of helping their draft stock for the next season.

They ended up 2-14 and picking first. But that wasn't tanking because there was no QB at the top. But now the Texans are tanking because there is a QB at the top? Nah.

Late season wins like this when the team is already in the midst of a terrible season, accomplish little other than helping ensure that we'll be in this similar situation again next season. 

 

The only way to get out of this is by getting the stud QB. 

 

The Colts bottomed out and got Luck. 

 

The Texans appear smart enough to just bottom out this season and get Bridgewater.

I almost wonder how Bridgewater got put on this pedestal as like some end-all be-all quarterback. That without him, the team can't become a winner. He was the top dog, crowned by the media, going into the year. I have watched all his games and I see a nice player. Would I be surprised if he ends up being a top 10 QB like a Matt Ryan? No. Would I be surprised if he ends up being a Sam Bradford, as average as the day is long? No. I certainly don't see a guy that would give me a stroke if we don't take him.

 

I wonder if "The Mad Dog" would even know who Bridgewater is without the preseason hype of Bridgewater.
