I was wrong about Trent Baalke.
I just completed this drafting on the fanspeak list for 5 rounds (don't know enough players to go 7). My draft looks like this:
1. Bosa 2. Shilque Calhoun 3. Hunter Henry 4. Corey Coleman 5. R. Aguayo My rationale: I'm tired of having no pass rush. With Bosa, Calhoun and Fowler returning, this now becomes a strength. Fowler can play outside linebacker as well as D.E. so this also strengthens that position. Henry gives the Jaguars a 2nd weapon at tight end and insurance in case Thomas gets hurt. Coleman was clearly BAP in the 4th round and gives this team another outside receiver with great speed as Lee has been totally unreliable. If Lee can stay healthy, this receiving corps will be scary. I probably wouldn't have picked Aguayo that high, but Myer just missed another extra point. This is inexcusable even though he has a strong leg and has made some big kicks this year. In free agency, I would target the best free safety (ideally Gipson) and a solid left tackle to compete with Joeckel. Quote: Dream We show less advertisements to registered users. This is my last FanSpeak mock
12: R1P12 DE JOEY BOSA OHIO STATE 43: R2P12 OLB JAYLON SMITH NOTRE DAME 75: R3P12 TE JAKE BUTT MICHIGAN 107: R4P12 OT BRANDON SHELL SOUTH CAROLINA 138: R5P11 DE DEVONTE FIELDS LOUISVILLE 169: R6P12 RB JAMES CONNER PITTSBURGH 177: R6P20 QB JACOBY BRISSETT NC STATE 201: R7P12 C MIKE MATTHEWS TEXAS A&M My personal mock would be: 1) Jalen Ramsey DB FSU 2) Jonathan Bullard DL UF 3) Jake Butt TE MICH 4) Jarrad Davis LB UF 5) Brandon Shell T USC 6) Ka'imi Fairbairn K UCLA 6) James Conner RB PITT 7) Mike Matthews C TAMU
Rd 1. Joey Bosa, DE, Ohio State
Rd 2. Jarran Reed, DT, Alabama Rd 3. Tyler Marz, OT, Wisconsin Rd 4. Joshua Perry, OLB, Ohio State Rd 5. Roberto Aguayo, K, FSU Rd 6. Bryce Williams, TE, East Carolina Rd 6. Cyrus Jones, CB, Alabama Rd 7. Joe Schmidt, ILB, Notre Dame
Quote: Probably my favorite one to date. Got Poz's replacement, two pass-rushers, a very underrated long corner that fits Gus's system, a super-athletic OT that could develop into a starter, an athletic 5-tech prospect, a good RB, and a versatile FS prospect that I've been hearing a lot of good things about. Quote:http://fanspeak.com/ontheclock/ I like the 2nd one, we need a bunch of pass rushers

We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today! by far my favorite one...this defense would be beastly with Fowler and some free agency grabs if we could pull a draft like this. Add a TE like McGee who has the build of a guy like Eifert and a big arm QB prospect like Doughty to put in our system and you have a pretty solid offseason.
12: R1P12
CB JALEN RAMSEY FLORIDA STATE

43: R2P12
DE SHAQ LAWSON CLEMSON

75: R3P12
OLB NOAH SPENCE EASTERN KENTUCKY

107: R4P12
DE JONATHAN BULLARD FLORIDA

138: R5P11
DT SHELDON RANKINS LOUISVILLE

169: R6P12
TE JAKE MCGEE FLORIDA

177: R6P20
CB DIEONDRE HALL NORTHERN IOWA

201: R7P12
QB BRANDON DOUGHTY WESTERN KENTUCKY

I'll sign on the dotted line now for KDAWGS draft. Ramsay would be one of my top 3 guys from the whole draft and to get him at 12 would be amazing, although highly unlikely. Lawson, Spence and Bullard would strengthen our pass rush significantly. Getting Spence in the 3rd is worth the risk due to his upside. Don't know how Bullard made it to the 4th.
The only thing missing is the offensive tackle, so that could be addressed in free agency. Quote: This would be nice.

My results:

12: R1 P12 - OLB MYLES JACK, UCLA
Options: DE Joey Bosa, Ohio State, DE Emmanuel Ogbah, Oklahoma State, DT A'shawn Robinson, Alabama, DE Shilique Calhoun, Michigan State.
Reasons: Bosa was available at this pick and while I like Bosa, I just get the feeling that Jack is going to have more impact on football games. He fits into that mold of he's a football player first, and a Linebacker second; it's up to you to tell him where to stand. Line Jack up all over the Defensive Front Seven and he'll produce. My dream scenario here is that he turns into the kind of defender that the QB must find on every play. He's going to force you to be a little creative, but that's okay. Thinking outside the box can be good for you.

43: R2 P12 - DE DEFOREST BUCKNER, OREGON
Options: DE Jarran Reed, Alabama, DE, Jonathan Allen, Alabama
Reasons: While I like the pedigree of both of the players listed above, I give the slight nod to Buckner. Granted, he's more of a "power" End than a true pass rusher but he's played a lot of good football for four years now.

75: R3 P12 - OLB JORDAN JENKINS, GEORGIA
Options: OLB Eric Striker, Oklahoma, DE Jonathan Bullard, Florida
Reasons: I have been on the Striker bandwagon for years now and if Jenkins hadn't been staring me in the face I probably would have taken him. But I feel that Jenkins knows how to play a Point of Attack better than Striker and that he can be a long term answer for the OTTO position.

107: R4 P12 - WR BRAXTON MILLER, OHIO STATE
Options: Don't matter, it's Braxton Miller. Okay fine, Nassib was still there but come on! Braxton Miller!
Reasons: He's just too much talent to let walk by at this point. His presence will present serious competition for Marqise Lee and will give this Offense yet another speed element to add to it's attack.

138: R5 P11 - K ROBERTO AGUAYO, FLORIDA STATE
Options: A bunch of guys I had never really heard of.
Reasons: Did ya see the kicking game this past season?!?! Aguayo makes perfect sense if you can snag him in the Fifth.

169: R6 P12 - TE JAKE MCGEE, FLORIDA
Options: I didn't really know any of these guys.
Reasons: McGee has talent and a desire to work. He's bounced around a lot but he's been rather productive. He's got the movement skills to threaten a Defense and I think he'll be a nice add.

177: R6 P20 - S DEANDRE HOUSTON-CARSON, WILLIAM & MARY
Options: ILB James Burgess, Louisville, CB, Cyrus Jones, Alabama
Reasons: He measures out at 6' 2", 195 and runs around a 4.5 but we'll see how accurate those numbers are at the Combine. Regardless, he won the Co-Defensive Player of the Year award for the CAA. He's a four-year Starter and will be a stalwart on Special Teams.

201: R7 P12 - QB VAD LEE, JAMES MADISON
Options: Two guys that go by "Jake Duzey" and "Steven Scheu", whatever
Reasons: This is the Offensive version of Nick Marshall. Vad saw time at Georgia Tech and then transferred to JMU. He's essentially being brought onto the roster as an Athlete and to see what he can contribute to the Offense. Plus, I know the guy that coached him in Pop Warner and so that's awesome.
I'm trying to make myself more informed and less opinionated.
