AR15 - 1,000 Yard Man!

Quote:Do you guys think arobs skill set is also good for longevity vs other high profile receivers with insane straight line speed, or will he be subject to the same tapering off profile? Just interested in that sort of thing. I have hope he'll maintain dominance a lot longer for his vertical aggressiveness rather than spee, not sure that is how it works though. I think the best comparisons for Robinson are Larry Fitzgerald and Brandon Marshall and their skillsets seem to have aged fine. We show less advertisements to registered users. Quote:For the first half of the season Robinson was sharing possession passes with Hurns. Coming into the season, the Jaguars didn't know who would be the number one so things were split pretty evenly for awhile. OBJ was clearly the target for the Giants from the start. Imagine what Robinson will do next year with a better game plan for him. Allen Hurns caught 10 passes for over 100 yards in just the first half at Indianapolis. Then after halftime he caught only one more pass. I never understood that. It was clear last year Allen Robinson is #1 and Hurns is #2. Maybe getting a new OC was why Hurns got more catches in the first half of the season than he does now. Odell Beckham might be the best WR in the league. Nobody else can catch footballs like he does. So it was a pretty obvious choice for the Giants. Quote:Do you guys think A-Rob's skill set is also good for longevity vs other high profile receivers with insane straight line speed, or will he be subject to the same tapering off profile? Just interested in that sort of thing. I have hope he'll maintain dominance a lot longer for his vertical aggressiveness rather than speed. Not sure that is how it works though. You bring up a good point. Most people talk about longevity for QBs and RBs but not WRs. I don't know why straight line speed would have anything to do with it. The major factor is durability. Is he injury-prone? I think you would be crazy to say that about a guy who suffered only one major injury in two seasons. Because many receivers don't jump as high as Robinson does, I can't say if that will become an issue late in his career. He's young, so he has a lot of time to improve. Ultimately, his work ethic will determine his longevity in the NFL.

The Brandon Marshall comparisons are pretty spot on.
Best WRs right now seem to be AB Hopkins Julio Green OBJ Demaryius Dez Marshall Others like Evans Cooper Edelman Emanuel Sanders Jeffery Hilton ARob probably deserves to be in the top group but most will lump him in with the 2nd.
Quote:The Brandon Marshall comparisons are pretty spot on. Definitely not Demariyus. He has not been thrown to nearly as much in Gary Kubiak's offense as Andre Caldwell and Emmanuel Sanders. Also, miscommunication has been an issue since Brock Osweiler became the starting QB in Denver. He is not the Thomas I remember from two years ago. Quote:Definitely not Demariyus. Quote:Talent wise Demaryius is up there. Yes. No doubt about that, but part of being a WR is chemistry with the QB. I hope he gets better at that before Peyton Manning retires. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
Quote:Our coaches are the best. Coaches probably snuck over Blake at halftime and told him not to throw it to AROB anymore. I can totally see it
Quote:I dunno about that.pls don't make me laugh, Blackmon has 2 really good games, 10+ below average, and a few "good" AR-15 has had more Great games in this season alone than Blackmon had "good games" Also Blackmon never went up and snatched it like Ar-15, ar-15 is an elite wr blackmon was never that.
Quote:You keep Hurns because he embodies this culture. Tough, competitive, and a hard worker. I wouldn't trade him for anything. Being an UDFA, he's also never really been paid. It will be interesting to see if he can stay motivated once he gets the carrot.
Quote:pls don't make me laugh, Blackmon has 2 really good games, 10+ below average, and a few "good"lets be fair blackmon had gabbert and henne throwing to him instead of blake. If he had blake throwing to him blackmon along with robinson they together would be the best in the game. ![]() We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
Quote:You must mean by week 12. Mike Evans and Odell Bekham Jr. both had 1,000 yards and 9+ TDs last season. I believe ARob is younger than they were last year
IT WAS ALWAYS THE JAGS
Quote:I believe ARob is younger than they were last year He isn't. Mike Evans was 21 last season, ARob is 22 this season. OBJ was 22 last season but his birthday is 2 months later than ARobs, thus he accomplished it being 2 months younger.
Quote:The Brandon Marshall comparisons are pretty spot on. Being from Michigan, I'm obligated to point out a glaring omission .
