High Profile cases often go to certain lawyers anyway.  


In Virginia a child kidnapper and possibly killer (they never found the body sadly) and John Allen Muhammed both had the same lawyer.  I'm sure there's some lawyers who wouldn't want to take those cases.  Either because they felt they couldn't handle them, or their families might not want them to.  

My understanding is that if you're a public defender, you get no say in the matter. If a case is assigned to you, you take it, period.

Yes it does. The argument that jet fuel doesn't burn hot enough to melt steel is and always has been an obfuscation of the reality that it does burn hot enough to cause a building collapse. The steel doesn't have to melt so that whole argument is misdirection.
