Can you believe Bortles was almost a Texan?

Quote:What about if the Jags drafted JJ Watt instead of Blaine Gabbert? This what if game, can be played until the end of timeAgreed, though they could have had Watt & Bortles. I think with Watt, we might have won enough games to get us out of the Bortles running. Worst to 1st. Curse Reversed!

This what if game, can be played until the end of time This really isn't true. The Jaguars traded up because they thought Gabbert was going to be their QB of the future. We would have drafted after the Texans otherwise. I don't see anybody trading up for a DT in the first round unless they have a crystal ball and can predict the type of career that Watt is having. ![]()
Clowney's playing well. Wouldn't surprise me if he exploded for like 12-15 sacks in 2016. QB trumps all other positions though.

The Texans were never going to pick Bortles. Clowney was number one on everyone's board
Don't care what that link said. They only did it to entice us to give up everything to move to number one so that they'd still get clowney Quote:The Texans were never going to pick Bortles. Clowney was number one on everyone's board So the Texans filled out 2 cards that no one else would see besides them to entice us? Ok.
Loved when Caldwell said even if Clowney was on the board he was still going to pick Blake. Awesome.
Shock the world

If the Texans took Bortles we would have taken Mike Evans and then drafted Carr later in the first through a trade up.

Considering QB was our number 1 need and Bortles was their number 1 player....

Quote:The Texans were never going to pick Bortles. Clowney was number one on everyone's boardThis is definitely not true. There were a lot of scouts and teams who had different opinions on who was better pass rusher prospect Clowney or Mack? We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today! Quote:This is definitely not true. There were a lot of scouts and teams who had different opinions on who was better pass rusher prospect Clowney or Mack?we're talking about overall prospect. Don't narrow it to pass rushing only Quote:If the Texans took Bortles we would have taken Mike Evans and then drafted Carr later in the first through a trade up. More like Mack and Carr.
If Bortles was gone the plan was to take Evans and then our next highest rated QB (Carr) in a trade up.

I do sometimes wonder what things would look like now with Mack and Carr vs Bortles and Fowler. I'm not saying I wish we had gone that route because I LOVE Blake Bortles. It's just interesting for me to thing about. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
Glad we got him until he retires. He will go down as the greatest Jag ever once it's all said and done.....meh I don't know..
Tony Fred Jimmy Blake MJD Keenan Quote:If that was true it would have been reported during the draft.Yep, because teams always tell reporters exactly what they're doing with their draft picks during the draft. Go home, J-Dub. You are drunk. |
