That's what I originally thought also...but I was lead to believe otherwise by folks who re-watched the game citing Hasselbeck chirping at our D en route back to Shady Pines the clots bench...

 

He did bark at em.  Barking at em doesn't necessarily mean faulting them, well faulting them for being put out...

 

Or whatever.  He old, he a pouter, he mediocre, he a clot...

The picture says it all. He was clearly still in bounds, but that was never the issue. The issue was that Has was just as clearly giving himself up going out of bounds. Look at the picture. He wasn't trying to get extra yards. The ref could have easily thrown a flag here, but I like the no call.

 

Appearances can be deceiving! I've seen Tom Brady do exactly this same move and then suddenly turn up field for an extra few yards. Football is often a game of inches, and an extra yard or two is a big deal. Hasselbeck could have done the same thing unless put out of bounds with authority. Tough luck that he got hurt as I'm sure that wasn't the intent of shoving him out of bounds; but if you're 40+years old and playing in the NFL and you try running down field and not sliding... you were asking for it.
