I agree. It might sound dumb but I love having someone who was a fan before on our team.

Easy Bunnie, I thought it might be fun to go back and look at some pre draft Bortles thread and see what some posters were thinking.

I had a little time to kill so I went back and looked at some old posts about Bortles before the draft, especially because he just broke the franchise record for TD throws in just his 2nd year.

Besides, when the time comes that you have been unseen and not heard from for a couple of years, you might enjoy a good necro-bump.

Don't knock it until you have tried it.

Actually, this could be said about a lot of posts, past and present.

haha It's great going back and reading post like this!

Quote:Still doesn't change the fact that he is a reach at #3 and likely will be overdrafted by one of the desperate organizations of the browns and raiders.

Well, hello again ladies.
I'm trying to make myself more informed and less opinionated.

Stop saying whatever stupid thing you're talking about and pay attention to all the interesting things I have to say!

Quote:Bortles has a lollipop arm.  I guess he would be an OK QB in a west coast horizontal passing offense.
yeah probably right haha

Quote:Give Bortles time to learn from the bench and he's going to be good. Start him as a rookie and he's going to be Gabbert.

Quote:Give Bortles the exact size and frame of Manziel, and he likely wouldn't even be drafted this year.

In other words, nothing Bortles has ever done anything on a football field warrants him being a top QB draft pick, in the line of Newton, Luck, etc.

Sure, he's a good quarterback, but TRUST ME. If Bortles was 5'11, he'd be undraftable. It's all his 'NFL size' and 'NFL weight', and because of that size, his quote-unquote 'potential'. Heard the exact same thing the year we drafted Gabbert. Do not want. Gimme Johnny or Teddy please.

I really didn't think bortles would be this much of a gunslinger though. I'm not trying to sound like i know it all. I thought he would be a little more conservative and harder to come by points like big ben in his first few seasons. Now he and big ben are both exploding.
Coughlin when asked if winning will be a focus: "What the hell else is there? This is nice and dandy, but winning is what all this is about."

I agree, it's fun to go back and look at all the mb GMs giving their pre draft opinions on all the QBs in the draft, especially the posts about Bortles.

To be fair, his post was from September of Bortles' junior year. He was actually probably somewhat ahead of the curve there.

Quote:"I've never seen anyone like him" means just that. He is not like any other player, for both good and bad reasons.

This little gem alone made giving this thread a bump well worth it.

Look at the name, could it be................?
