Quote:Again, comes back down to what you consider "radical". Personally, I believe that Muslims who believe Sharia should be the "Law of the Land" are radical and should not be allowed in the United States. Here are those percentages from the document. The below percentage is easily above 20%, probably close to 40-50% of the world Muslim population.

That's a distortion. They are only radical if they act upon their belief, whether it be by actively fighting as or with, or giving support to, Islamist radicals.

Additionally, if you think they should not be allowed in our country, what would you propose for those already here?

Well, if they are American citizens, nothing. They are no different than KKK members to me. You aren't going to kick KKK members out of the country, but you definitely shouldn't let them immigrate here.

Quote:Um kasich is the definition of a moderate candidate why do you think he wouldn't pull independents?

I must have missed this, but here is your so called "moderate" candidate.

How is starting WW3 with Russia a moderate/independent issue?

They are all talking hard about Russia I'm not a kasich guy but he's probably the most moderate of all the candidates. I don't know why that is debatable?

They aren't, though. Ted Cruz, Rand Paul, and Donald Trump haven't talked nearly as hard as the neocons on stage. Starting a fight with Russia is an extremely un-moderate position. Donald Trump has been the only one to say he would work with Putin, and by doing so has done more for Russian relations than Obama has done in 7 years.

Out of all of them, Trump is the only one I simply don't want to make it. I could at least buy into reasoning for anyone else, but Trump would embarrass us as least as bad as Obama has when it comes to meeting with foreign dignitaries. You just never know what he might say. Dude's a loose cannon.

Would you consider it equally wrong if someone thought US law should be based on the Bible?

Sure, but give me an example of a Christian organization in the United States that actively participates in wholesale slaughter and mass bombings that wants to do so.

Yes, but the rather large Christian segment of our population isn't engaged in active violence to make it so. There is no moral equivalence there.

I googled the question and got this:

http://aattp.org/here-are-8-christian-te...qual-isis/

They name the Klan, the IRA and the Aryan Nations among others as Christian terrorist organizations.   If you say those people are not real Christians, I would point out that most Muslims would say Al Qaeda and ISIS are not real Muslims.

But back to the question of belief in Sharia Law, I've seen surveys that show that 57% of Republicans believe the Bible should take precedence over the Constitution.   But I don't think that necessarily makes them a threat to public safety any more than believing in Sharia Law makes someone a threat to public safety.   We have a Constitution.   We have elections.   The threat is from violent extremism.   Not religion in and of itself.   Once you declare that a particular religion is a threat, you throw 1.6 billion people into the enemy camp.  That's just a bad idea.   We can't beat these people by invading the middle east.   We would go bankrupt.   We have to have allies on the ground.  That means we have to have Muslims on our side.

I took my wife, son, and stepson to the Cruz rally in Nashville yesterday. Crazy turnout and the wife, who isn't too into politics, said it was very powerful. The boys were wowed.
We learned in the Sunday School who made the sun shine through.  I know who made the moonshine too, back where I come from.

I think they said 1,000 and it looked to be every bit of it. Standing room only. Not bad for 3 days before Christmas.

 Awesome!

I'm very encouraged that Ted Cruz's support has increased substantially in the last few months.

The problem is Sharia Law is in conflict with American law, and yet attempts to somehow make Sharia Law ok to practice keep happening. What we need is a bill that makes it clear without any doubts that the practice of Sharia Law is strictly banned on American soil.
