Cornerback (Hargreaves specifically) most likely pick?

Quote:I really just don't see VH3 as an elite player. He does a lot right mentally and is very fluid, but lacks the body type you'd want in a top 10 pick.I wasnt comparing their body types. Was comparing the way they play. He is the best corner to come out since PP and I think he will be as good We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
Look both VH3 and Ramsey will be good. Which one we get is a matter of when we pick - the result of our improvement on the field.
I find myself siding with Ramsey for a few reasons. One, positional flexibility - he would be a good corner, and possibly a great safety. Two, body type. VH3 may have the tenacity of the Honey Badger and the ball skills of Revis, but if he's 5'8 he'll be hard pressed to cover some of the giant receivers in the nfl and might be confined to the slot. The question for me is: Ramsey (if available) or talented pass rusher (not sure there's many this year).

2015 NFL Draft - Analyzing Targets www.jungle.jaguars.com/index.php?/topic/7892-2015-nfl-draft-analyzing-targets/
I'm starting to think he may end up being the pick. This isn't a great year for pass rushing ends. It would be awesome if he ended up being near the level of a Revis!! Imagine that!
If they can get a pass rusher in FA and then Another later in the draft, this would be a really solid pick. Quote:The question for me is: Ramsey (if available) or talented pass rusher (not sure there's many this year).I think that very last point is the key here. Are there any truly great pass rushers (beyond Bosa) in the 2016 draft? If the answer is "no" and the available cornerbacks appear to be of a higher quality, then I think it would be foolish to reach for a pass rusher purely through need. All areas of our defense can be improved right now.
Quote:I think that very last point is the key here. This is exactly what I have been saying. Joey Bosa will be gone before we pick. With Vernon Hargreaves, we know our first rounder is elite. People who want to reach for a defensive lineman must have forgotten #93 was a top 10 pick. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!

People who want to reach for an undersized CB prospect must have forgotten that top tier CB prospects that last 4 years haven't turned out very well. They have to try to compare two guys who aren't alike at all in order to think that the current guy might be good. You certitude that VH3 will be elite is speculation fueled by your orange and blue glasses. “An empty vessel makes the loudest sound, so they that have the least wit are the greatest babblers.”. - Plato

Do I think he is hands down the best pick for the jags? No. Depends who is available.

I feel a lot more comfortable drafting VH3 than I did drafting Fowler. I would prefer to draft a tackle or Ramsey in the first; however, I am okay with a cornerback or defensive line player based on our draft position as of now. To me, Fowler was a huge, huge reach last year. Very versatile, good at a lot of positions, but not even close to being a great pass rusher. I don't think he can set the edge or be a double digit sack guy. So till he proves me wrong, an elite pass rusher is still on the board for me.
New signature because HIGH SCORE found the periodic table offensive. Pathetic LOL

If Dante Fowler was a huge reach at #3, Dave Caldwell would have picked someone else. He was expected to be our pick there. We show less advertisements to registered users. Fowler is a reach because he did not do in college what they expect him to do in the pros. Honestly his college career would make you think OTTO not LEO. “An empty vessel makes the loudest sound, so they that have the least wit are the greatest babblers.”. - Plato

There is a reason he was a 5-star recruit. "A man with no sauce is lost.

Let's see what he runs at the combine. I remember a couple years ago when purifoy and roberson were hyped as potential round 1 picks and then went undrafted. Combine is going to tell us a lot.

Quote:Purify and Roberson didn't go undrafted because of the combine. Did they not run extremely slow? edit: my memory is wrong on purifoy. They both had legal issues going into the draft. roberson did run 4.60 40 though. either way, they werent talented enough to have a team invest a draft pick on them. |
