I really just don't see VH3 as an elite player. He does a lot right mentally and is very fluid, but lacks the body type you'd want in a top 10 pick.


He won't be a bust, but I think he will end up a disappointment if we take him that high.


For the poster comparing him to Peterson:

Peterson is listed as 6'1", 219 lbs. VH3 MAY be over 180 at 5'10".


If we take him I will hope to be wrong, but he gives me a bad feeling.

I wasnt comparing their body types. Was comparing the way they play. He is the best corner to come out since PP and I think he will be as good

I find myself siding with Ramsey for a few reasons. One, positional flexibility - he would be a good corner, and possibly a great safety. Two, body type. VH3 may have the tenacity of the Honey Badger and the ball skills of Revis, but if he's 5'8 he'll be hard pressed to cover some of the giant receivers in the nfl and might be confined to the slot.


The question for me is: Ramsey (if available) or talented pass rusher (not sure there's many this year).

This is exactly what I have been saying. Joey Bosa will be gone before we pick. With Vernon Hargreaves, we know our first rounder is elite. People who want to reach for a defensive lineman must have forgotten #93 was a top 10 pick.

I'm a gators fan. I think vh3 is one of the most talented corners to come out in a few years.


Do I think he is hands down the best pick for the jags? No. Depends who is available.

If Dante Fowler was a huge reach at #3, Dave Caldwell would have picked someone else. He was expected to be our pick there.

Fowler is a reach because he did not do in college what they expect him to do in the pros. Honestly his college career would make you think OTTO not LEO.

Except he's already done a combine before and was measured at 5'11'' 180lbs, and that's when he was 17-18. There is a reason he was a 5-star recruit.

Let's see what he runs at the combine. I remember a couple years ago when purifoy and roberson were hyped as potential round 1 picks and then went undrafted. Combine is going to tell us a lot.

edit: my memory is wrong on purifoy. They both had legal issues going into the draft. roberson did run 4.60 40 though. either way, they werent talented enough to have a team invest a draft pick on them.
