If bloodlines meant "nothing" then why do people always gush about bloodlines when it works out for the "positive", i.e. Clay Matthews/ Mannings/ et al. 

 

Are there examples of bloodlines not correlating/? sure. No one is saying otherwise....but for people to totally dismiss it is convenient. If the elder brother of Carr was actually uhm...---good--- then it would probably be a safe bet that all the people dismissing bloodlines would then be touting bloodlines in favor of Derek....thats what people around here do.

Not many people are saying to take him over teddy. I'm hoping (haven't seen enough) that he will be a solid fallback plan.


Teddy is still the top guy and I highly doubt that changes.

The title of the thread is "Derek Carr vs Teddy Bridgewater" that implies that you are putting the two on somewhat equal footing. Teddy is a new Bugatti and Carr is a Ford Focus.

I wouldn't draft Carr in the top 10. If the Jags fall to 4, I'd take Matthews. (assuming Bridgewater, Clowney and Barr are all selected)

umm because imo they are the top 2 qb in the draft.  more like teddy is a bugatti and carr is a ferrari

I'd love to. I don't want a mediocre QB to keep us on a mediocre treadmill for the next 4-7 years. If we draft a QB, I want him to be a thoroughbred that has the potential to be a top 5 QB in the NFL. I wouldn't spend a high pick on anyone who wouldn't live up to that billing, especially with all of the holes on our current roster.

teddy, carr, bortles, mettenberger, hundley, mariota, boyd, manziel are all deserving first round grades imo, maybe not boyd anymore though
