Division Scenario

Quote:The Texans have never won at Indianapolis in 13 tries. I am picking the Colts in this one.

that actually makes no logical sense.

each 2 times at least they have been completely different teams with different players....and this time the Colts have been playing no better than Texans and Manning and Luck arent around.

How about this: Matt Hasselbeck is expected to play and Brian Hoyer is officially out. Who do you think has the better quarterback?

If Texans win this Sunday, they're winning the division.

The Jaguars still have a chance of the Colts lose.

No.

I mean, technically yes, but no. Jags aren't going to the playoffs. Sorry.

I'll eat all the crow if it happens, but it won't.

I'm curious. What happens if the Texans win this week, but Texans and Colts end up tied at the end if the year? Assuming both teams would end up at 4-2 within the division, what team wins?

TO BREAK A TIE WITHIN A DIVISION

If, at the end of the regular season, two or more clubs in the same division finish with identical won-lost-tied percentages, the following steps will be taken until a champion is determined.

Two Clubs

 1. Head-to-head (best won-lost-tied percentage in games between the clubs).

 2. Best won-lost-tied percentage in games played within the division.

 3. Best won-lost-tied percentage in common games.

 4. Best won-lost-tied percentage in games played within the conference.

 5. Strength of victory.

 6. Strength of schedule.

 7. Best combined ranking among conference teams in points scored and points allowed.

 8. Best combined ranking among all teams in points scored and points allowed.

 9. Best net points in common games.

 10. Best net points in all games.

 11. Best net touchdowns in all games.

 12. Coin toss

We need the 'horns to win today.....and lose to the tacks.

We need to win out.

Going to happen?.....standby.....stranger things have.

Football is getting like baseball, a play here a play there can make loads of difference. :turned:

Just messing with the NFL playoff simulator and it looks like the Texans would win the division.

Hope the horns win a playoff game and prolong finding a QB that much longer.

Be careful what you wish for. Brian Hoyer has been fine this season.

According to NFL.com the Texans win the division with a win and Colts loss. Their part should be no problem, but the way Miami played today, I am not sure Houston will get help from the Dolphins.

It doesn't matter what the Colts do next week if the Texans win.

Only way for Colts to get into the playoffs: Houston loses out AND Colts beat AT LEAST the Titans in week 17.

Only way for Jaguars to get into the playoffs: Win out AND Houston & Colts lose out.
