Question for the board

#21

Quote:Yeah. He looks too lean, skinny to play LB in the NFL. He doesn't fit the mold of a Seahawk LB. Try him at strong safety.

No.

I don't like this team at all right now, but talking smack about Telvin Smith is a new low for this board. I admire his energy and leadership. Looks like the only dude who cares and makes plays each game. Started yesterday's game off with a tackle for loss.

Telvin 6'3" 223lbs,  Kam Chancellor 6'3" 232 lbs.    I think Telvin would be a playmaker at safety.

Quote:What is the biggest draftable need on this roster?
I think it definitely should be on the defensive side of the ball

Top two priorities:

- Pass rushing DE

- "Do it all" LB

So...Joey Bosa or Jaylon Smith

Note: I think the Jags can add a solid starting CB via FA

The biggest "draftable needs" in Jacksonville are unknown until the season is over. Injured players will return. Healthy players will get hurt. Schematic changes can be made too. You never know what will happen during or after the bye week. I wish board members would realize this and wait until we are eliminated from the playoffs to discuss some 2016 draft topics.

But to answer the OP, I think we should also be looking at who will be available in free agency or as trade bait. Why think about the guys we can draft before you know which veterans will be available at positions we need to upgrade? This topic should be in the NFL At Large section because it is only about positions, not players.

Yeah, I would go Bosa if we are in a position to get him. A D-Line of Bosa, Fowler, Marks, Odrik, Miller, Davis, and Bennett would be a huge upgrade. As mentioned above we can go secondary in the free agency with guys like Gipson, Berry, and Janoris Jenkins set to be free agents.

Having Bosa and Fowler as bookends could be nasty.

The biggest need that I can see is a talented athlete on the Front Seven. Whether that is a Tackle, End or Linebacker I don't think it matters too terribly much. The team needs dynamic players on the Defense.

I'm trying to make myself more informed and less opinionated.

Stop saying whatever stupid thing you're talking about and pay attention to all the interesting things I have to say!

Where does Bosa project in this defensive scheme? If he's a stud of course he'll be on the field all three downs but in the base defense, where does he project? Is he the 3T or the big end? I'm just curious as I haven't watched much of him.

I think he could be the big end. Odrick,Marks,Bosa and Fowler would be an amazingly versatile front 4 to put out there.

Could play big end or big LEO.
