How many times has that been said about a coordinator or position coach on any NFL team anywhere? Gary Kubiak and Mike Zimmer were perpetually "gone" for half a decade or more before they actually left. Marrone will be back next year, in large part because owners are going to be hesitant to trust him after how he left Buffalo.

I should be surprised so many of you expected Khan to fire Bradley, but I'm not. It's not like he sent mixed signals or anything, yet the outrage expressed here seems to be coming from people who can't believe Gus will return next year.

Yes, this is true. But I go back to the Super Bowl when Malcolm Butler,  (who?) , stepped in front of Ricardo Lockette to intercept in the end zone and seal the win for the Pats. It was coaching who instructed Butler to look for that route, in that situation, in that formation. He was coached up. I don't see that from Gus.

This Adams guy put me in my place. I've been wrong to call for PCGB's head. Clearly I'm wrong and PCGB is a great head coach. Of and I'm not a true fan because I don't see the error of my was and support blindly.

I will gladly take 1-2 mistakes a year from a coach over 15 years if you give me 4 sbs, and however many playoff appearances(I think 11?). Either way when you are 12-2 you can afford to have a little faith in your defense. Back to the point, if Gus posts a 4 win season next year he will have 16 wins in 64 tries, assuming we finish 5-11. A .25 Win rate!

 

FUN FACT: If Gus were to average 10 wins a season from now on, it would take a whopping 6, yes SIX years to eclipse a .500 win% mark overall, and a 9-7 record in his 7th season to finish at a.506 win rate.

Even @ 11 per, it wouldn't be until year 5 until Gus has over .500 as a coach, all to cover up the first 3 years of Gusball.

Sacrifice a goat? I flew to a previously uncharted Polynesian island during the forum's downtime and had ten virgins tossed into a volcano, and it still didn't do any good. You need to step up your game, and maybe if we both try hard enough, we can get Gus to accept a college job shortly after the NFL season ends.

3 of those calls were in the 50 Burger...

 

Going for 50 was a good call...  That one timeout/non-timeout to look at the replay on whether or not one of the Allens made the catch on the side-line was a good call...   

 

That's all I can think of off the top of my head.  Don't think there were any good calls in year 1.  Can't remember any good calls in year 2...

 

Oh...  This wasn't a good call...  But I think the moment the Bills took over the lead, and Gus was all "that's OK" and clapping, and being all rah rah, was a good "call".  Instead of freaking out or whatever...

 

So there's 3 good calls I can think of...

It is what it is.


For all the losses this year I still feel the offense has really improved. Fact......Bortles can move the ball and score big time. His numbers reflect this. There are flashes during some of his drives that resemble a well oiled offense and then they revert back to mediocrity. There is no consistency.


What the Jags have really need is discipline and while Gus has been a motivator he does not have what it takes skill wise to completely package this team. He has pointed the team in the right direction but he can't take it home.


It would have been nice to get rid of Gus, but to find another coach that will step into place and not rebuild to his idea of an offense and defense is going to be hard. Kahn needs to find a coach who can work with what we currently have and that is going to be difficult. I think almost all the pieces of the puzzle are here..........we just need a coach who can produce.


It's ironic, this year the stars were in alignment in our division. If we would have been playing better ball we could of easily made it to the playoffs based on our rivals poor performance this year. Hopefully they don't rebound next year!


Just my two cents.........for what is worth I am a long time lurker, just never registered. I did not know until this past Sunday when the forum was down how much I visited this site. Game started and it was like where the hell did the site go. It is always great reading the comments during the game to see how my observations stack up to everyone else's.
