Quote:Surprising. Thought the Chargers and Bengals were both playoff contenders Based on what you mentioned which is definitely the case, one would think that this game would be one that Chargers fans would want to buy tickets for. Other than the economy being a factor in keep many people from buying tickets, I think the Stadium in San Diego has become a major issue that's keeping many people from attending Chargers fans.. If the Chargers don't get a new stadium in the next few years, the patience of the Spanos family could easily run out.
Quote:Surprising. Thought the Chargers and Bengals were both playoff contenders Not the Chargers. Right now there are four 5-6 teams and a 6-6 team (the Ravens). Before Baltimore's win over Pittsburgh, the 5-6 team most likely to clinch the #6 seed was the Titans. A couple weeks ago, everyone thought the Ravens suck and don't have a chance of catching up with the Bengals. Now they are only one game apart. Now I think the #6 seed will be the Ravens. Before the blackout was announced, they were tied for the final playoff spot. While I don't think the Chargers will be the final AFC playoff team, they certainly are right in the mix at this point in time.

Quote:So why did I read the current #6 seed is Tennessee? I'm not sure which tiebreaker that put Tennessee ahead, prior to the Ravens win over the Steelers. Regardless though, the race is so tight that the team ahead one week can easily be behind the following week. Even though the Steelers lost last night, they are still in playoff contention. Most likely a team with a 9-7 or 8-8 record is going to be the 6th seed in the AFC.
And this is a team that sent their general manager to Louisville to scout Teddy Bridgewater . . . What a difference two months makes.

According to ESPN the Chargers are "In the hunt" category. Very realistic shot of making the playoffs if they can find some consistency.
Concerning blackouts I believe Lamping announced before the season began that the Jags would have zero blackouts this year.
Quote:According to ESPN the Chargers are "In the hunt" category. Very realistic shot of making the playoffs if they can find some consistency. All 5-6 teams are "in the hunt," but obviously everyone knows some of them don't even deserve to be mentioned as playoff contenders. How many people take the Chargers seriously? Quote:According to ESPN the Chargers are "In the hunt" category. Very realistic shot of making the playoffs if they can find some consistency. The Chargers schedule on paper at present looks relatively difficult even with 4 remaining games at home: Bengals, Giants, at Broncos, Raiders, Chiefs. Because 2 of the Chargers wins were against NFC teams ( Eagles and Cowboys ), they could easily lose a Conference Record tiebreaker. Because there are so many teams in the race for the final Wild Card, Common Opponents record is almost impossible to get a handle on at this time. My gut feeling is the Chargers probably will have to win at least 4 games to be the 6th Seed. One thing that could really hurt them is their losses at Tennessee and Miami. Quote:All 5-6 teams are "in the hunt," but obviously everyone knows some of them don't even deserve to be mentioned as playoff contenders. How many people take the Chargers seriously? Just by mathematics alone, all these teams should be taken seriously. We have seen already this season how things can change at an instant. The Aaron Rodgers injury in Green Bay is exhibit A.
Quote:Just by mathematics alone, all these teams should be taken seriously. Even before Rodgers got hurt, I predicted your Lions will win the NFCN and worried about the Bears getting a wild card spot instead of the Packers. Quote:All 5-6 teams are "in the hunt," but obviously everyone knows some of them don't even deserve to be mentioned as playoff contenders. How many people take the Chargers seriously?I can definitely see your sentiment but if you compare them to the other " in the hunt" teams they all have room for serious doubt. San Diego has looked quite good at times and then again they have left me scratching the ole noggin. I remember listening to one expert on TV mention that the AFC west could end up getting 3 teams in the playoffs.

That is possible, but I have no reason to expect it after seeing the Ravens, who should have scored another touchdown on the weird Jacoby Jones run. We show less advertisements to registered users. Quote:That is possible, but I have no reason to expect it after seeing the Ravens, who should have scored another touchdown on the weird Jacoby Jones run. That upset me so bad! Did you notice as Tomlin was jumping away his foot actually moved toward Jones as he was faking his startled leap. I hope the NFL throws down a heavy fine for that.

I don't care what the NFL does. The Ravens won, so in the end it did not matter. Of course I loved the fact that Jones did not score on the play because I hate the Ravens. Hopefully they will miss the playoffs. Quote:I don't care what the NFL does.
