Caldwell talked about Free Agency the other day

I would love Vernon here!

Gibson, I haven't seen him play enough this season, but I doubt he can be any worse than our safeties. Smile

How have been him and Mack doing this year? I've read Mack didn't play that well, but Wiz really got worse as the season progressed and needs to be upgraded.

With several of them being on the sidelines/up in the booth wearing headsets.

No to Vernon. He has way too many personal fouls

Caldwell is on notice too

He's made some REALLY poor choices, most namely, hiring GUS BUS

Last year Caldwell said that we had "checked off all the boxes" in the draft and FA...he said they took care of all their needs...they actually played the clip on 1010.

Now he's singing another tune

Get this guy out of here

I see 6 Major needs, with DE and FS as the big 2. If we fix those and somehow get a pass rush(with Marks, Odrick, Fowler and a FA/Draft pick i think we do) we fix a lot of the defense's problems.

On that note, Can you imagine Marks, Odrick, Fowler, and Bosa as a front on passing downs? A man can dream can't he???

I think the top FA target should be a LEO.  Otherwise we'll have nothing but rookies at LEO.   That almost never works.  We need a pass rush, not a kindergarten for prospective pass rushers.

I'd expect atleast one free agent DE

Quote:I must admit that those 579 combined rushing and receiving yards over the past 2 seasons were sweet.

My apologies, sometimes I get carried away with looking at quantity and fail to evaluate the quality of those hard earned yards and the intangibles (leadership, community support) that he brought to the team and Jacksonville.  Blush
Let's see, 579 yards, 7 millions bucks collected. 7 million divided by 579 = $12,089.81 a yard. Helluva bargain.

Fixed that for you. There are no real free agent options at Center.

People will say he had a down year, and he did, but the first year back from an injury is typically not going to be very good (i.e, Marks). I think he would be a solid addition.

Agreed. At least he doesn't snap over the QBs head once a game.

I think he's due for a comeback as well. As much as I wanted him last season, I'm not sure I want to give him that kind of money this season given the risk.

I'd take Eric Berry over Tashaun Gipson at FS. Acquiring Berry if he's available would actually be my top priority this offeason.

As a 2nd FA, I'd target Cordy Glenn. Blake needs much better protection than what the Joke is giving him.  If they franchise Glenn there are a few other LTs they can look at ,although not necessarily day one. Names include Donald Penn, Russell Okung and Kevin Beachum.

As for Oliver Vernon, he's an intriguing option although you'd probably have to play him at LEO with Fowler moving to OTTO? Then again, as a day one option at LEO, the first guy I'd target is Muhammad Wilkerson who had 12 sacks this past season. That said, I'd prefer to land the perfect OTTO. If by chance Von Miller hits the market the Jaguars have to go after him. If he's franchised or re-signed, the Seahawks Bruce Irvin would be an ideal option as the Seahawks OTTO for the past three seasons. if Vernon is gone, and with the Seahawks having so many free agents to re-sign this offseason there's a reasonable he chance he actually hits the market.

It would be great to find a CB, but on day one I'm not sure who is worth even targeting. There's no way the Panthers let Josh Norman walk.
