Navajo Code Talkers Appear In Redskins Jackets
|
Well, imagine that.
http://freepatriot.org/2013/11/30/navajo...s-jackets/ It seems that the people who are supposed to be the most offended by the name Redskins are quite the opposite. It's funny how things like that work. In more and more cases, this is happening. The Seminole tribe staunchly defends the FSU name. Now it turns out that most Natives feel the same way. Do those who stir the pot and make issue with trivial things like this ACTUALLY talk to those who they deem victims, or do they just not care and go on with the notion that they're intellectually superior to everyone on these subjects, so they should be heard regardless....

Politicians just want to change the name of the Redskins so they can feel better about themselves. Not to actually help out Native Americans. People want to get offended on behalf of people who aren't. It's pseudo activism. Much easier than real activism.
If I were Dan Snyder I'd shame all these politicians, and start a "Native American Awareness" charity, to focus on real issues.
I was wrong about Trent Baalke.
I don't really care about the issue, but talk about some overgeneralization there.
Three Navajo code talkers= entire US Native American population. ![]()
Do we need another post about this?
Oh yeah, so those who wish that the Redskins should retain the name can feel better about themselves. You don't think those Navajo members would have been there if they objected to the name, do you? Just a silly p.r. move by Snyder. Not hard to see through. Well, for most people anyway. And the whole FSU/Seminole thing has nothing to do with the Redskins. Redskins is a racial slur. FSU has worked with the Seminole tribe to be sure to be authentic and to honor the Seminoles. We've been through this before - the name will eventually be changed. Somewhere down the road. Perhaps after Snyder is no longer alive or involved in ownership.

Quote:I don't really care about the issue, but talk about some overgeneralization there. So, where are the ones against it? Last I checked, those making this push are indeed not native Americans. And yes, when you take into account all the other teams with native American names and the overwhelming support of the Native Americans, it is particularly noteworthy. Quote:Honest question.Last I checked, it was a football related story. What the hell does the site have anything to do with anything?

Quote: If it is changed it will be because of the minority howling, as usual.
Regarding the website that the article Dakota posted, every website that has other content beyond sports is going to have slant in it's coverage. If this website crosses the line, one can counter that articles from the New York Times. Washington Post, Chicago Tribune, and San Francisco Chronicle cross the line the other way. They certainly do for me. So much depends on one's point of view.
Quote:If it is changed it will be because of the minority howling, as usual. You seem to be the Lead Howler on this board. Now get back to helping Chip Kelly revolutionize pro football.

Quote:You seem to be the Lead Howler on this board. I think ESPN did a survey a while back, and most people didn't want the name changed. In my eyes, the team having the Redskins name is a sign of respect. The name wasn't picked because it denoted a weak or unambitious people. They were, and still are, proud of the name. Native Americans can't even agree to find it offensive.... or mostly offensive. Why should any decision this big happen with concern voiced by so few or those that may not even be a Native American? Quote:You seem to be the Lead Howler on this board. Yes because Chip Kelly isn't doing a good job is he??? He's practically turned an average Joe in Nick Foles into a borderline pro bowl QB. But but but lets keep pretending that Chip Kelly ISNT revolutionizing pro football because Jax didn't even make a play there and instead chose Gus Bradley.....
Quote: And you post a link to a fringe political site. And isn't that type of stuff not allowed on this board?

Quote:I think ESPN did a survey a while back, and most people didn't want the name changed. Of course most people don't want it changed....its just the ramblings of a few that do and most of those don't even care about the cause, its really all about them and grandstanding under the guise of sensitivity. Gimme a break. What a crock. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
They didn't think Blackskins or Whiteskins would last as long as this name has. Did you know the 49ers were almost the Yellow Rail-Layers?
