Poll: Is Gus Bradley leading this team in the right direction?
Yes
No

Fan Survey: Three seasons in now, do you still feel like Gus Bradley is leading this team in the right direction?

Quote:This team is the same team that it was 3 years ago, merely different players. They still make the same mistakes, they are still soft, they still can't play defense. The improvement we see on this team is the result of getting a real QB and a coaching change. There's no way Fisch gets these results, just like there's no way Babich would get these results if you upgrade that talent.

Bradley + Jed = Suck

Bradley + Babich = Suck

Bradley + Olson, et al = Not Suck

Bradley and his losing culture is the constant creating these poor results, not the difference maker changing them. The difference makers came from elsewhere, and we need to bring in more of them.

He gets his year, but you should hope that Bortles and co have another terrific year, 'cause they had the best offensive year we've had in decades and it got us 5 wins. If they regress even a bit it's gonna be 2 or 3 wins at best.

You bring up a good point, and the record reflects that.

I was listening to 1010 this morning and they brought up that the defense shouldn't be rebuilding in year 4 like they currently are, so something is wrong. Think we all know what (who) that is.

That doesn't make sense... marked improvement in this team has happened.

And in the NFL you go up or down....

Don't think we're going down.... just not up fast enough for the impatient 3 year crowd

The offense has improved a lot. Part of that is from the 2nd year players improving over their rookie play. Part of that is adding Parnell and Yeldon. Part of that is from replacing Fisch with Olson. Maybe Gus gets credit for firing Fisch, but maybe not. Alfie claims inside info that Gus was forced into that decision. If so, hopefully someone will force Gus to replace Babich this week.

Gus' specialty is defense. Which defensive players have made "marked improvement" over how they played when they arrived??? Marks maybe, but he was pretty good from the start. Telvin was already a tacking machine in his very first preseason game. Colvin and Gratz are no better than their first few starts, nor are Evans and Cyprien.

I trust anything Alfie and his pitchfork crew say about as far as I can throw Miller across a football field.

I agree with everyone, the defensive coach should have a better defense....

But Marvin Lewis was a defensive coach, that won early on the heels of great offense... not until recently did Cincy get their D real strong...

And with Brian Billick, he was an offensive minded coach, who won a SB on the heels of great D, and Trent Dilfer at QB....

too much is put into these coaches...

in game decisions... yeah thats on the coach. Went for it on 4th and 3 inside their own territory, bad choice. Didn't challenge an obvious catch, bad choice...

etc.. etc..

But talent trumps all.

If I could hand pick the roster to make sure every position is filled with good to great talent... I'm willing to bet most people on this board could "coach" that team to a lot of victories...

Yes but only because there is almost no way we can get any worse than we have been.

Picture driving your truck down the road. There are signs that there is a cliff straight ahead and there is a good chance if you don't stop now then you will fall off the cliff and die. But stopping now is "knee-jerk" and we must see the process play out first before making a decision. You bibbers can stop but patience is the key. So you keep driving and, sure enough, you go over the cliff. As you are plunging to your death you say "perhaps this was the wrong choice. I am so glad I didn't make a knee-jerk decision though."

This is the mindset of the morons who voted yes.

patience is a virtue.  the sign should say its either a cliff or a rich reward, and you must weigh your options. I for one am happy that khan is going to allow Caldwell to continue his plan. unlike any other gm we have had. he has acquired players who can be real stars in this league. other than mjd we haven't had any relevant players for a long long time.

Gus is terrible. Quite frankly the worst NFL head coach I've ever seen in my 35 years of watching football, no exaggeration.

Gus is leading us to the right direction: a much better head coach after he gets fired next year

It's a cliff, yep, a cliff. 99.9999% of the time you fall to your death. All signs point to this... But... there is a .0001% chance at the bottom of the cliff there is a huge pillow to catch you safely with a bunch of 10's ready to mate.

.... I guess we're going down the cliff

The poll needs an option of "Not Sure."  Because that's what I am.   On the fence.

Meh...

Bobby Petrino.

Dude literally quit on his team mid season.

Just walked out in year one with 3 games left to play.

His teams performed, that is the issue with Bradley. Nice guy who can't get results. Petrino, [BLEEP] who could.

The final 2 games just took the wind out of my sails.

I honestly expected those guys to be flying all over the field laying it all out on the line.  Instead, it looks like they got in holiday mode and went through the motions.  I'm not saying they quit on Gus but they sure didn't play with the intensity one would expect from a coach that is best known for his motivation and player relationships.

LOL at people who continue to claim Gus inherited a team that was basically worthless. The team he inherited was 5-11 under Del Rio for Pete's sake. Three years later and a complete turnover orchestrated by this guy and we're 5-11 still. How is that headed in the right direction?
