If Jacksonville had the #1 pick, who would you select?

#1

We know it is not going to happen, but what if we could pick any player in the draft and not have to worry about who will drop to #5? Who would you pick?

It should be clear by now I would not hesitate to write "Joey Bosa, DE, Ohio State" on the card for Roger Goodell. But I see some people would rather start with the offensive line and talking about an Ole Miss LT because Blake Bortles was sacked nine times in Houston. With the top pick in the draft, we obviously would be able to pick either Bosa or that other guy, Leremy Tunsil IIRC.

I am posing this question because every year top pick favorites sink much farther down than everybody expected. Let's see if this makes predicting picks for all 32 teams a lot easier.

Tursil or Bosa. We will get an impact player no matter what. This is a good draft.

I'd trade down with the Browns and rob them of all their draft picks

I'd take Bosa and run.

Bosa no question

Pass rusher and can set the edge and stop the run

Unfortunately we would not get much for trading down only one spot.

It's the Browns.

The most incompetent team in the NFL. They deserve the #2 overall pick.

If the Titans don't pick Joey Bosa, the Browns would be really stupid to not take advantage. They need help everywhere.

Exactly. If we had the #1 pick, I'd trade it to the Browns for their #32 pick and a few more picks, and then take Bosa with the #2 pick.

No, the Browns would be really stupid if they took Bosa instead of a QB

Are you saying we were stupid for not taking Mack? Mack>Bosa and we needed help everywhere!

Are any quarterbacks top 5 prospects?

I agree with everyone who wants Joey Bosa in Jacksonville.

Of course not. We got a DE who can play OLB, which is Khail Mack's role in Oakland.

No, the year Mack was drafted we got a QB named Blake Bortles

Yup.

Franchise QB > any other position (even Mack who may turn out to be incredibly elite)

Heck, even if JJ Watt was available during last year's draft, I'd still say

Franchise QB > JJ Watt

True franchise QBs are that hard to find,, and you take it and run if you need one.

This year? No franchise QBs available (not that we know of anyway). That's why I'd go Bosa.

And that was a good year for quarterbacks. This year, not so much.

If we had the #1 pick this year, I think Joey Bosa would be a no-brainer selection.

Goff is about as good as a prospect as Bortles was coming out. Bortles wasnt some sure fire franchise QB. Browns would be stupid to take Bosa

Bortles was a sure-fire future franchise QB. Nobody expected it to happen in his second season.

Of course if Goff is a bust and Bosa does what everyone expects, people are going to say the Browns were stupid to pick the QB.

If Bosa is a bust and SF drafts Goff and he becomes a franchise QB then vise versa. Or even if Bosa and Goff both turn out to be studs then the Browns made a bad pick. If Bortles was a sure fire franchise QB the Texans or Rams would of taken him! Keep up JDub
