Vernon Hargreaves similar to Marcus Peters?

#1

VH3 and Peters have a lot of similarities

Both are great press man CBs

Both are great play makers on the ball - 3 int as a freshman, 3 int as a Soph and 4 int as a Jr for VH3

Peters - 5 int as a So and 3 int as a Jr

Peters would have gone higher in the draft if he didnt get kicked off the team for issues with the coaches

Peters 6'0 - 198

VH3 listed as 5'11 - 199, we will get his real size and everything at the combine

I always like defensive players that also make plays because the usually translates, look at Peters and guys like tyrann mathieu all ways around ball in college and same way in the NFL, Hargreaves is that way.

Jaguars defense outside of pass rusher needs DBs that are gonna take the ball away

I like Ramsey but where are the game changing plays? 0 int and 1 sack this year and he has 3 ints in his career at FSU

To me Ramsey is more of a Colvin clone at CB he is great in that Nickle slot can rush the passer had 3 sacks last year

He can play FS but is he gonna be a game changing FS to go in the top 5? A lot more question marks there

I wouldn't get my hopes up on us drafting him.

VH3 Under Armour Combine in High School

5'11" 180lbs

40: 4.3

Broad Jump: 10.5

Bench Reps: 11 at 185 lbs

Shuttle: 4.03

Not sure why people think he is 5'9" Did he shrink or did they lie at the Under Amour Combine and its more than 3 years later. And ran a 4.3

Hes not as aggressive as Peters, hes more of a zone corner where as peters is a man to man corner.

Peters takes a lot of chances. The stat you don't see is how many touchdowns he's given up. He reminds me more of a younger Antonio Cromartie.

That's not a bad thing though, and I would gladly take a Peters clone on this defense.

THERE IS A SKELETON INSIDE OF YOU.

RIGHT NOW. THIS IS NOT A JOKE.

Peters ran a 4.53 at the combine, 17 bench reps, 4.08 shuttle

Hargreaves is faster and will prob get similar bench reps at the combine

Good info

Peters and Hargreaves are similar in that they are both cornerbacks. Besides that, there isn't much similarity. Mental makeup, physical attributes, tackling ability, etc.... All different.
New signature because HIGH SCORE found the periodic table offensive. Pathetic LOL

I didnt say there were clones of each other, they are similar in they both are play making CBs that play press man, and have similar height and weight

As far as  Mental makeup, physical attributes and tackling ability Hargreaves blows Peters out the water, which is why he is a top ten prospect, which Peters wasnt

I'm aware of what Florida runs,Im a Florida fan, Freeze plays better in zone,he has good eyes and awareness which is what makes a good zone corner,he doesnt have great strength or speed which is what makes a good man to man CB. Tabor is a man to man corner which is why he was on treadwell so he could jam him in the Ole Miss game and Freeze just played the other WR for Ole Miss(should be a 3rd round pick). With all that being said i know Freeze was injured this year with the back and other nagging injuries and he had a down year but the guy is still a beast of a CB just isnt a press man guy such as Peters. Disclaimer i want him to be the pick if Ramsey is gone.

VH3's dad is a CFB coach and has been since 1985 and has been at schools such as; Connecticut,Miami,FIU,ECU,USF,Houston, and Arky. So thats played a big role in VH3 because his dad knows what it takes to be a good football player and character/mental preparation is a huge part of that

He might not be the strongest corner but he is a very physical corner and not sure what you mean he doesnt have great speed?  I bet he will run one of the fastest 40s at the combine out of the corners.

The speed aspect of him is good but if you match him up with a Desean Jackson or the Brown in AZ he will probably need safety help,so not elite which Peters isnt either. The guy i would compare him to is Revis, not really a zone guy because i now NE mixes their coverages up but just from a physicality stand point he seems very Revis-esque with the not elite speed or strength but because of his other attributes are so good that they can make up for those sub-elite traits. I know the standards are high but if we are taking a CB at #5 hes gotta be elite which i believe VH3 will be.

VH3 will likely run a 4.3 40 and put up around 20 reps on bench.  He plays fast and physical.  I think you put your foot in your mouth and are really reaching.

If I was a Hargreaves fan, which I am not, I would not want to compare him against Peters. In doing so, it shows you do not have high hopes for Hargreaves.

Yes, Peters has some impressive numbers. However, let's put those numbers in context. Peters was the most targeted cornerback in the ENTIRE NFL and it wasn't even close. He was targeted 132 times, 28 more than the next CB. He has given up 7 touchdowns, 4th worst in the entire NFL.

I can assure you an elite cornerback is not thrown at 132 times.

I'm looking more at being able to get INTs something we havent had a CB since Mathis, like I said in another post, Hargreaves is a way better prospect then Peters but they both have ball hawk skills, which is what we need
