Why weren't Caldwell and other scouts concerned with Fowler's explosion?

Quote:To sum up yours

" I have no idea what I'm talking about, so I'm just going to google the height/weight comparisons."

Are you expecting me to give you a play by play analysis to compare DFJ and Dion Jordan's college game tape? Look on YouTube, it's really not hard to see the difference.

Seriously, go on YouTube, compare the two, and with a straight face, tell me their play is the same.

We already had the Fowler gif discussion, and I gave my opinions on players that he reminds me of, if you disagree that's fine, but you're basing your disagreement on nothing at all, and can't even remember how big Dion Jordan was coming out of college, why should anyone take anything you think about him or any other player seriously after that?

Quote:It's silly to think that more athletic people can do elite level athletic things with less of a chance at getting hurt than a lesser athletic person can do at the same elite level? Doesn't seem like a preposterous hypothesis to me, and the SPARQ people are/were in the very early stages or correlating that last I saw.
Some of the best athletes in the NFL have torn their ACL. Some of the worst athletes have tore their ACL also.It doesn't matter how athletic you are if you land awkwardly or plant the wrong way you can tear it.

Adrian Peterson,Jamaal Charles,Gronk,Von Miller,Honey badger,Thomas Davis, RG3...few examples of guys who would be considered elite athletes at their position and have torn their ACL.

Lol if those Fowler gifs reminded you of Dion Jordan, I've heard enough of your evaluations to understand why people talk to you like they do on here.

I'm basing my opinion off of... Ya know... Watching them play in college... Not remembering what how much one of them weighed 4 years ago.

But hey, whatever helps you sleep at night.

Like I said, you can't even remember Who and What Dion Jordan was coming out of college, of course you can't relate to my thoughts on Fowler. Can you even remember what you had for lunch yesterday?

Lol I would tell you I had chicken and rice, but I don't want you to confuse it for a bowl of lucky charms.

Your thoughts on Fowler and Comparing DFJ to Dion Jordan are completely wrong, so much infact, hardly anyone agrees with you.

Oh man, the message board brain trust doesn't completely agree with me. Is that what made you adopt your stance?

No, I mean like hardly anyone in the NFL watching world.

Again, my stance was adopted for watching college football, not googling the most recent DE/LB bust.

Once again, coming from someone that couldn't even remember how big Dion Jordan was coming out of college.

No one asked me what his weight coming out of college was, nor did you specify. I gave you both of their current weights.

I'd be more worried about the guy who didn't watch either of them play anyway.

Even if you ever watched either of them play, which I'm not convinced you did since you think there's such a big difference between them, I couldn't be sure you'd even remember them correctly at this point.

They're the same player from the standpoint of what they did in college, which was succeed due to good athleticism and an exceptionally talented group surrounding them rather than by their own ability to beat their man the way they need to do in the NFL.

Bahahahahaha DFJ had exceptional talent surrounding him?!

Lol it's official now, you know nothing of which you speak of.

But hey, at least you can remember what someone weighed 4 years ago.

I didn't watch Fowler in college, but he only had 13 sacks in his college career? I know he's versatile, and Muschamp lined him up all over the field, and not necessarily just rushing the passer. Hopefully, the guy becomes a Khalil Mack-type player.

From NFL Network's Path To The Draft with Mayock following Fowler's pro day...

"Fowler is my No. 1 edge rusher," Mayock said on NFL Network's "Path to the Draft." "Why? In today's NFL you have to do three things. One, rush the quarterback. Two, set a physical edge. And, three, drop into coverage. Fowler is the best at all three, in my opinion, in this draft.

"I will be stunned if he gets past pick No. 5. He's a top-five pick all day long."

High praise that is understandable considering Fowler (6-foot-3, 261 pounds) moves better than most linebackers already in the league and was among the most highly regarded pass rushers in the SEC during his college career.

But, but but...this whole thread is about Fowler sucking. Armchair whining GM's know this is the case. Clearly the "experts" have no clue.

Quote:I wouldn't worry about that. Fowler might be a bad athlete but he does have the intangibles in spades. He will hustle and motor his way into being a solid football player, just not one that will ever be worth the #3 overall pick (which was also true before the injury).
How can you call someone a bad athlete when you even admitted to the board that you had trouble getting through a single football practice?

That is how it works? You should go into sports medicine.
