Vernon Hargreaves similar to Marcus Peters?
|
Quote:a 4.3............... please dont mean a 4.3 flat :whistling: I said a 4.3. I didn't say a 4.30. You're really reaching. He'll run between a 4.35 and 4.45 and more likely closer to the 4.35 side. Hope that clarifies it a little bit. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today! Quote:Hes not as aggressive as Peters, hes more of a zone corner where as peters is a man to man corner.Hahahahahahaha, did I actually just read this? You know nothing.
Hargreaves isn't as physical, but blankets receivers way better. I don't think he'll be targeted as much as Peters was this year.
I like how i say vh3 is ALOT better than Peters and compare him to Reivs and apparently im reaching for saying he is elite?? So you think he isnt elite? Idk what the problem is,yall are so defensive, all i did is say i think hes more of a zone corner and everyone flips out even though i said hes an elite corner. Im saying Peters isnt that great and Vh3 is......Btw lol i have watched VH3 for 4 years and before you say oh hes been at UF for 3, i watched all his games(online) from his senior year in High School and i also know every player on UFs roster because i follow them as much as i do the Jags. Its just my opinion that hes a better zone corner, never said hes a bad man to man corner,so you all need to calm down and stop with the jabs.
Quote:I'm looking more at being able to get INTs something we havent had a CB since Mathis, like I said in another post, Hargreaves is a way better prospect then Peters but they both have ball hawk skills, which is what we needHargreaves is in no way a turnover machine. Never has been, I press you to actually watch his game film. In the few interceptions he has had (ranks within the 77 top CBs in interceptions, they tend to come off garbage plays or tipped balls. Just look at this years film, 4 ints. New Mexico State - Trick play, thrown by the running back for a 50 yard jump ball directly into THREE gator defensive backs. Kentucky - Tipped ball by the defensive back covering the short route, tipped right into Hargreaves hands. Ole Miss - Garbage time. 4th and 15 down 28 points with minutes left. Was still a good play to jump the route. Georgia - Ball tipped at the line of scrimmage, floats in Hargreaves hands. Tabor can play tight man to man and get some interceptions, Hargreaves not so much. Now if Hargreaves was thrown at as many times as Peters could he have that many interceptions? Hell yeah, but so could most defensive backs.

Quote:VH3's dad is a CFB coach and has been since 1985 and has been at schools such as; Connecticut,Miami,FIU,ECU,USF,Houston, and Arky. So thats played a big role in VH3 because his dad knows what it takes to be a good football player and character/mental preparation is a huge part of thatIf that's true I really wouldn't be upset if we draft him. Someone like that will have basically been brought along and taught how to learn from birth which goes a long way to teaching the pro game if the guy you selected already "knows how to learn", if that makes sense.

I'm trying to make myself more informed and less opinionated.
Stop saying whatever stupid thing you're talking about and pay attention to all the interesting things I have to say!
Quote:can read his little coaching bio here Good read, thanks for posting that Quote:To quote Herbert...Exactly. A guy who has already learned how to learn has a sky high ceiling in the NFL.

I take a player's high school time's with a grain of salt. The average college football player is nearly a tenth of a second slower when he leaves for the NFL. (Of course this affects bigger players more due to how strength and conditioning programs cause them to gain weight. .30-.60 difference for offensive and defensive linemen.)
Florida: Mike Gillislee 4.4 high school, 4.55 NFL Josh Evans 4.43 high school, 4.58 NFL Jordan Reed, 4.5 high school, 4.72 NFL Florida State: Ronald Darby 4.31 high school, 4.38 NFL Lonnie Pryor 4.5 high school, 4.7 NFL Nick Moody 4.45 high school, 4.71 NFL Everett Dawkins 4.68 high school, 5.06 NFL

Oh so instead of a 4.35 he runs a 4.45, now he's slow? Cmon. He aint gonna go out there and run a 4.6 or something.
And there is something to be said about being in the right place at the right time. Something the Jags cant seem to do.
Quote:Oh so instead of a 4.35 he runs a 4.45, now he's slow? Cmon. He aint gonna go out there and run a 4.6 or something. Well comparing to last year's combine, a 4.35 puts him in Waynes/Darby territory. With a 4.45 he doesn't crack the top 5 and is more close to the slowest CB... So yeah I think it makes a difference. The fact is that teams place a huge emphasis on 40 times. I, personally, don't think it's as important as they make it out to be. But they do. Look at Fowler. Doesn't crack the top 10 in almost every pre-combine big board. He is near the bottom I'm almost every combine workout, but posts a quick 40 time. Post-combine, people suddenly have him as a top 3, top 5 prospect.

4.45 would have put him 7th fastest CB. A 4.44 would have put him tied for 3rd.
Obviously you don't understand the importance between the difference. A 4.35 would make him only .07 slower than the fastest cornerback to ever participate in the NFL combine in history. A 4.45 makes him .07 faster than the slowest cornerback in the draft class. That's a big difference.

First it was 4.3, then 4.35, then 4.45, next thing I know you guys will be saying Hargreaves is gonna run a really fast 4.55. Haha

Quote:Hargreaves is in no way a turnover machine. Never has been, I press you to actually watch his game film. The fact is he has ball skills in is in the right spot, he has had ints in all 3 years at UF, something you cant say about Alexander and Ramsey, even people who love Ramsey are saying how bad his hands are. VH3 was the PR at UF, which says a lot about his hands and ball skills, that is a huge plus for a CB
