I feel that everyone has a responsibility, not a right, to improve the world we live in. When the situation calls for it, the death penalty is addition by subtraction. Charles Manson, Dahmer,Bundy and others remove humanity from the human race and we're better off without them. I don't know if it applies in the Lonzie Barton case but it does have a place in the justice system in my opinion.
Quote:Lot more to this story than has come out. Uh oh, nate the defense lawyer is back to defend an obviously guilty party....whether it be her or him or both of them together, something bad happened and they should pay. If its true that at most they were getting 20 years, then something is wrong. Quote:Question: What would give you the right- individually and personally- to take someone else's life? The same right given to Lonzies killer. What right did he have? And if he didnt then what are the consequences? Rehab?
Blakes Life Matters
My guess is that the perp was going to plea bargain for life in prison rather than the death penalty, and that's why he told them where the remains were.

Quote:I could believe this. No fan of Corey...but can't prove? The guy leads the cops to the body. After months of searches with no results, this guy hops in a police van and takes them to the body. Just blind luck I guess. Doesn't prove anything? Well, how about psychic.

I have a feeling this case will be one featured on a 48 hours mystery, Dateline type show in the future. It has it all.

I don't know if it applies in the Lonzie Barton case but it does have a place in the justice system in my opinion. I am asking about you, individually. Where does your right to take someone else's life come in? Especially considering your lack of personal involvement to the situation (I'm assuming here) Quote:No fan of Corey...but can't prove? What does that prove? I am not being smart alec-ish (?) here. I am not suggesting luck. I am asking exactly what your third sentence proves. I am not saying it doesn't prove ANYTHING. I am asking you what it does, precisely. Bear in mind that the prosecutors were on board with all of this. Quote:Justice. So Justice gives you the right to kill another person without having any interest in the matter? You. Individually. As in you are the one causing another's death. Quote:The same right given to Lonzies killer. What right did he have? And if he didnt then what are the consequences? Rehab? I thought you were saying they didn't have the right to kill another person, and therefore should be punished accordingly? So, I guess we will be cutting your hair and shining up your dome to sit in Ol' Sparky next.

It seems very likely to me that the only reason the body has been found is because Ebron cut a deal knowing that the state was going to but the mother on the stand.
What bothers me is the fact that I have a feeling the mother had more of a hand in this poor child's demise than most suspect. Everyone assumes Ebron is the killer here, but I'm not so sure. Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

Quote:It seems very likely to me that the only reason the body has been found is because Ebron cut a deal knowing that the state was going to but the mother on the stand. Another step in this line of thinking - Everyone is assuming their is a killer at all. Quote:I am asking about you, individually. Where does your right to take someone else's life come in? I don't think I have a right to take someone's life. However,if I'm on a jury and the crime is eligible for the death penalty then it's my responsibility to weigh that option. Quote:I am asking about you, individually. Where does your right to take someone else's life come in? Ebron or the mother feared for their life, self defense because Lonzie was going to kill them.
