The ironic part of this story is the death of Lawrence Phillips came within the 24 hour period of the death of the St. Louis Rams..   Philips was arguably the worst draft selection the St. Louis Rams made in their 21 season history.

The guy had a serious mental problem. How he ever passed entrance exams to get into Nebraska is beyond me but I suppose there are clauses in their entrance requirements that specify something to the effect of "has demonstrated abilities to contribute to the welfare of the University" or some such wording. He could flat out run the rock though.

 

The guy is in a cell with another human who turns up dead from strangulation and he thinks he can get off? SMH.

 

The world is better off knowing he won't be able to harm another.

Guy never had much of a chance.  Little guidance or support.
