49ers hire Chip Kelly as HC

#1

One thing that immediately comes to mind is does Chip Kelly believe the 49ers long term solution at QB is currently on their roster?

It's widely believed that their "vacancy" is already held by Mike Mularkey to make the house cleaning after a new owner takes over much easier financially.

Nothing I read indicates the Titans are interested in Tom Coughlin.

Poor 9ers. Makes me sad, my dad who just passed was a massive 9ers fan and I know he wouldnt be too happy on this but at least he is just being brought into coach and not have any part of the GM side of things.

Still.... poor 9ers.

Oh, this should be great. Kelly is a reported edgy guy who doesn't get along well with his players and Baalke is a reported wacko.

I can't wait to see these two nut jobs duke it out.

I'm trying to make myself more informed and less opinionated.

Stop saying whatever stupid thing you're talking about and pay attention to all the interesting things I have to say!

It is well documented Chip Kelly's undoing was having the GM job. Before he got that title, the Eagles went 10-6.

I wonder why there have been no updates since Dirk Koetter's interview on the Buccaneers job. What is taking them so long to interview other coaches?

Interesting question: does Kelly give Kaepernick another shot, or does he go with/get stuck with Gabbert because of Kaep's contract?

What's the rush? Koetter's not in play for any other jobs and he's under contract, so there's no harm in leaving him dangling a bit while they wait and see if anyone better pops up after this week's games.

I would think this gives Kaep a new leash in life, as this will allow Kelly to finally run his Oregon offense with a mobile QB who can throw

Are you forgetting the 49ers can draft a QB regardless of Kaepernick's contract? There is no reason to think they are "stuck" with him as the starter.

Four teams (Dolphins, Browns, Giants, and 49ers) have hired new head coaches. The Giants were going to interview Hue Jackson and missed out on him, so obviously all teams with HC vacancies are rushed to fill them. We still don't know what the Titans and Lions will do.

Gabbert becomes the next Montana now.

If Bob Quinn moves on from Jim Caldwell,   I think Josh McDaniels and Tom Coughlin would have a much better chance of replacing him than Dirk Koetter.

In other news, 49ers trade Blaine Gabbert and a 1st rounder to the Jaguars for Chad Henne.

I was wrong about Trent Baalke.

not only did I never buy into the chip Kelly hype but even news about him bores me.

Coughlin when asked if winning will be a focus: "What the hell else is there? This is nice and dandy, but winning is what all this is about."

I am talking about outside coaches, not an in-house guy. For example, let's say the Buccaneers want to interview Teryl Austin. He has an interview scheduled with the Titans before one with the Buccaneers. The Titans hire him.
