I have no issue with giving Gus a long term extension before the season.  The team is clearly improving, 5 wins > 3 wins, he deserves more time.  One fact that most of you don't realize is that coaches has zero impact on player progression and or the actual game, so keeping Bradley long term is the correct move.

 

Not one coach in the NFL could have gotten this team more than 5 wins this past season with how difficult the schedule was.

He was the guy who brought Sullivan out of retirement to come to Jacksonville.

Doubtful. But Marrone will probably be leaving JVille.

The most interesting thing was talking about getting outside opinions on his personal and giving an example of getting an unbiased opinion from someone on a second round pick they may be biased on.  With the Jaguars, he picked four 2nd rounders: Cyprian, Lee, Robinson, Yeldon.  He made it sound like they disagreed with their assessment on a second round pick.  At first I thought Cyprian, but it could be Yeldon or Lee.  Or maybe they disagreed with Robinson (and turned out to be wrong).  Actually I can't say there is anything to take from this. Probably not. He could just be trolling.

I found it interesting when Dave was asked if he thought that Gus having a 1 year deal made it hard to hire a D-Coordinator he responded by saying no and that just because there's 1 year left right now, it doesn't mean it'll be that way when the season starts. Do you think he could get a new deal before the season begins?

 

 

What good is Gus having an extension by the start of the season going to do now? That is, they need to hire a DC right now, and right now the general perception relates to the fact that Gus currently has only one year left.
