Would you give Mojo another contract?

Quote:Few disagree with bringing him back at a reasonable price. But has there ever been a running back, especially a former pro-bowler admit he Fred Taylor certainly recognized where he was at in his career life cycle when the team started to bring in guys to replace him. He held it off pretty well for a while, but eventually his role changed. When the Jags moved on, he took an opportunity to play a lesser role in New England with the hope of getting a ring. It didn't happen. I think even MJD has to recognize where he's at in his career. I think he's a smart enough guy to recognize that his days of being a feature back are behind him, but that doesn't mean he can't contribute. Regardless of where he winds up next year, his role will not be as the feature back for any team in this league. In the end, I think keeping a guy like MJD has more value to this team than it would to see him leave for another. We're going to have a young QB and a reconfigured line next year. Having his veteran leadership on the roster only helps this team. Because the market for aging RBs isn't off the charts for contracts, I'd expect to see him looking at his options and extending his time here to finish his career. Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

Quote:Glad you're not our GM.Read the entire post. I said it's contingent on him producing similar numbers to the Texans game. Quote:"my offer is contingent on him playing more like he did vs the tinhorns" 3.5 million isn't that steep for 150 all purpose yards per game. If he doesn't show plenty more of that type of game this year - you don't make the offer. Read before typing next time.
I think its not too steep even if he averages 120 all purpose yds per game. (1900 on the season) But he's gotta prove he can do that.
He should be back to ease up kadeem Carey into the NFL much like Freddie t did for him. Also can we get Greg Jones back for cheap.

Quote:Methinks if the team brings him back, His fans up there ^^^ will claim it is was at a "reasonable" price no matter what the price is. Wait & watch. Translation = TMD thinks any amount is too much Quote:Translation = TMD thinks any amount is too much Partially correct. He thinks any amount is too much until the team extends an offer that he rejects. If/when he signs a cheap deal with another team, TMD will shift his argument to how cheap Shad Khan is for not ponying up the peanuts required to keep MJD on the roster. The diva is like the Mary Lou Retton of this board with all of his keyboard gymnastics. Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.
He's starting quicker and carrying tacklers like he used to the last couple games especially the Houston game. One time it took three or four to bring him down.
The foot injury from last year, and getting it twisted earlier this year must have hurt pretty badly. He carries a load on small feet. Hope he does see his role change ala' Freddy T. Man, what a tandem they were. One of the announcers even mentioned last week about Mojo and Todman. One runs around people and one runs over people. Isn't that what you want? Keep him.
Because Jaguars is our mantra

Quote:Translation = TMD thinks any amount is too much I still do not understand the hatred for guys getting paid... 30 million goes pretty quick when you live in a 4 million dollar house or multiple million dollar houses, drive multiple expensive cars and what have you, while you are 35-40 without a job or useful life skill in many cases We show less advertisements to registered users. Again, I think it all comes down to what he adds or doesn't add in the locker room and we're not privy to that. On the surface of it, he's an aging, small RB with an injury history. You don't pony up for that and a successful franchise does not pay for past accomplishments.
I am all for letting him go and not looking back. He could go on to be nothing a la Derek Cox or have a year, or two, like Daryl Smith. It's irrelevant, it's time to let him go. IMO. Pick up the kid from BC, Andre Williams, with one of the Monroe picks.

This is a good RB Class, Seastrunk, Williams, Gordy, Cary... and a few others could all make a career for themselves
MJD has gotten paid well for his past performance with the Jags. I look at the decision this way... If MJD was a 29 year old 8 year experienced and slowing free agent RB from a different team, would I be an advocate for the Jags to go after him to sign? No, not in the rebuilding mode that this team is in.
Good point ATLjag, it cuts loyalty out of the process. There should be no loyalty unless you have a Tom Brady type situation. Loyalty cuts both ways, too, don't forget MJDs holdout last year when we were "All In". It set the tone for the season- he was signed for 2 more years and should have come to work.

Quote:Translation = TMD thinks any amount is too much I've already responded to a post in the article that had a price I agreed was fair. So, --whiff--

I apologize, TMD, I enjoyed the MLR reference with the gymnastics so I had to use it. I take it back.

QBOTF??
:teehee: :woot: He's got to do a little better than he did vs. Cleveland to earn a nice deal, IMO but that TD pass was pretty funny! |
