If Jaylon Smith fell to the end of the first, I say we trade up for him. He can play any of the LB positions (especially MIKE and OTTO).

Eh, I kinda doubt that.

Dallas is in a perfect spot to take a QB, similar to how the Colts had an injured Manning which allowed them to take Luck. Take the QB, allow him to sit next year behind Romo, start him the year after.

I see Dallas going late round QB for now. They are basically in "win now" mode and I see them going with either Treadwell or top defensive lineman available.

Outside of Forte, this is amazing.

I don't think Wilkerson happens because I bet they tag him.

I can see them going "win now", yes. But they *should* take the QB. They almost took JFF (and might go that route again if he gets cut by the Browns), so its not like they haven't been interested in QBs. With the injury to Romo, his age, and the mess they put out at QB, I don't think its too far fetched.

And they were drafting in the mid-to-late teens when Jerry was considering Manziel, not the top 5.

Which makes even more sense to go QB now.

If Romo is healthy this season, they likely won't  pick in the top 10. This basically allows them to take a top QB in the draft while having only one down year.

Which QB though? Goff...Lynch? My opinion doesn't matter at all, but I don't believe in those 2. Wentz is going to be the best QB and I really hope he doesn't fall to the Texans.

I have no idea. Since we got Blake, I don't even look at the QB prospects in this draft. My focus has mostly been on defense lol

Same. I just like looking at all positions.

I think Wentz will end up being the first QB taken when all's said and done. He will have a Bortles like rise and Cleveland will take him. Dallas will be hard pressed to pass on one of the QBs but it depends if they're thinking win now or long term. They may not find themselves in a position to be abl to get a franchise signal caller for the future for a while so you have to think they will look long and hard at Goff and Lynch.

ProFootballfocus put out their Free Agent Rankings recently. You can find them here:

https://www.profootballfocus.com/blog/20...y-tracker/

What I found most interesting was some of their ratings on players

Olivier Vernon is rated 2nd on the list which suggests he is probably in for a 10 MIl/Yr payday

on the other hand

Tashaun Gipson of the Browns is rated at 44.1 which suggests that he could be a reasonably priced free agent

Nigel Bradham of the Bilss is likewise rated at 44.6 - again potentially a bargain signing at LB

Trumaine Johnson is rated higher than Janoris Jenkins both of the Rams. Both are probably in the 8 Mil/yr range

Bruce Irwin is rated at 77.77 which suggests that he could be in a similar 7.5 to 8 Mil/Yr range

Jason Pierre Paul is rated at 81.1 - higher than Irwin and just below Johnson.

I know that many question the ratings of PFF, however Vernon looks like he should be the top target regardless of price. He's young and plays a position in which the Jaguars have a great need. I know Gipson wasn't 100% this year, however I'd probably stay away from him and hope Ramsay will be there in the first round. Trevathan may not be able to re-signed by Denver and he'd also have to be strongly considered.

More and more I feel the Jags really have to swing for the fences this off-season and this mock off-season reflects that attitude.

Free Agency

1. Alex Mack - C - Browns - 9 Mil/Yr - Jags need an anchor in the middle of the offensive line to jump start the running game

2. Olivier Vernon - DE - Dolphins - 10 Mil/Yr - Jags jump on the top DE on the market to rotate with Dante Fowler at the Leo position

3. Danny Trevathan - ILB - Broncos - 9 Mil/Yr - Jags jump on the No. 1 Coverage ILB and put Poz on the bench

4. Trumaine Johnson - CB - Rams - 9 Mil/Yr - Jags jump on the Big CB to play opposite House with Colvin at the nickel

5. Tashaun Gipson - FS - Browns - 7 MIl/Yr - Jags ensure that they get their starting FS which allows them to be bold in the draft

Total Spent in Free Agency: 44 Mil/Yr

Draft:

On the clock the Jags trade Picks 5 (Rd 1) and 105 (Rd 4) to Jets for

Muhammed Wilkerson - DE - (sign him for 16 MIl/Yr) and picks 20 (Rd 1) and 84 (Rd 3)

Rd 1(20): Kevin Dodd - DE - Clemson - Jags now have 4 Pass Rush DEs to rotate

Rd 2(38): Darian Thompson - FS - Boise State - Jags grab a backup FS to strengthen the Safety position

Rd 3(69): Joshua Perry - Otto LB - Ohio State - Jags now have an Otto LB to push Dan Skuta

Rd 3(84): Artie Burns - CB - MIami - Jags grab another CB to help with depth in the secondary

Rd 5(141): Antonio Morrison - LB - Florida - more depth in the LB corps

Rd 6(177): Kevin Byard - SS - Middle Tennessee - finally the Jags can push Josh Evans off this roster

Rd 6(193): Victor Ochi - DE/Leo - Developmental Leo DE who should act as a designated Pass Rusher

Rd 7(213): Ejiro Ederaine - WLB - Fresno State - Depth behind Tevin Smith

From Matt Miller...

"I wouldn't be surprised if Gus Bradley sees his next Bobby Wagner in Myles Jack and drafts him at 5. #Jaguars"

Tyrann Mathieu then responded with this...

"@nfldraftscout I'm doing therapy where he is training. It's funny cause I understand what you are saying: I see it."

Yeah, I've been saying the same thing. Myles Jack would be perfect as our Bobby Wagner.

Bosa, Ramsey, and Jack is the 3 guys I would want at 5 and in that order.
