Gus Bradley gets 1 year extension

Quote:Do you not think that the teams arrow is pointing up?. The offense broke franchise records. Bradley created the environment to allow that IMO.Did you just tell me to be patient after you just said no one is telling us we should be patient? We show less advertisements to registered users. Quote:Did you just tell me to be patient after you just said no one is telling us we should be patient? Look, if you'll just be patient we'll be .500 sometime in the next 4 or 5 years. Ya gotta trust the plan, man. “An empty vessel makes the loudest sound, so they that have the least wit are the greatest babblers.”. - Plato
"There's going to be a mentality to our defense. We're going to play with toughness and discipline. We didn't see enough of that last year."
Todd Wash's first comments about how things will change from Babich. Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.
Quote:Cleveland Browns coaching carousel over the past 8 years)But you still miss the point with the Cleveland analogy. The argument was made (I apologize because I can't recall who made it just a page or so ago) that the extension sends a bad message to free agents that the team is not trying to win. Cleveland has not had a winning season in a long time, certainly not for the duration of Thomas' tenure there, and not for the duration of Pettine's tenure there. Thomas has been vocal about wanting to win. But he has also been vocal in his support about keeping Pettine. Why? Pettine hadn't had a winning season. Apparently for some reason, Thomas didn't think keeping Pettine was synonymous with endorsing losing. Same thing with Tampa. No, there hasn't been the wild instability here there has been in Cleveland and Tampa. But the point is that extending the coach does not necessarily equal endorsing losing. Firing the coach does not necessarily equal ending the losing. Worst to 1st. Curse Reversed!
Quote:Did you just tell me to be patient after you just said no one is telling us we should be patient?I didn't tell you anything, you seem to be hung up on this idea everyone is telling you to do something. Are you going to answer the question? Is the arrow pointing up in your opinion?

Quote:Found this very weird. Eh, not that weird. He wanted the D-line coach's opinion on the candidates. Now, one could say that Wash might be a bit biased toward Todd Wash being the next Defensive Coordinator. It could be good or it could be bad. I have no problem with it, unless some candidates didn't want to interview because it was obvious that Bradley wanted Wash as coordinator, and they felt the interview process was meaningless.
I was wrong about Trent Baalke.
Quote:Free agents aren't stupid. If the average Joe fan and the people at 1010XL have figured out it's just an extension to look good for FA's, then I guarantee the FA's and their agents can see it.I agree. Free agents can tell whether an extension is a ruse or not. Free agents can also tell whether or not talent or coaching has been the primary issue here, either through watching film, playing them, or communicating with our players. Worst to 1st. Curse Reversed!
Quote:"There's going to be a mentality to our defense. We're going to play with toughness and discipline. We didn't see enough of that last year." Now this i like. Thought our defense was soft under Babich.
@vitostellino wash seems to suggest they didn't play with discipline under babich.

Quote:I didn't tell you anything, you seem to be hung up on this idea everyone is telling you to do something. With GB at head coach? Absolutely not. I think Blake Bortles and the Allens got better, other than that, it's been lack luster to say the very least. I now have a question for you, is the current situation better than the situation we would be in if GB was fired? Quote:"There's going to be a mentality to our defense. We're going to play with toughness and discipline. We didn't see enough of that last year." I agree completely with Wash here. Worst to 1st. Curse Reversed!
Quote:I agree completely with Wash here. Ok, well both Gus and Wash were on the coaching staff last year... This has nothing to do with Babich. We show less advertisements to registered users. Sounds like he's more of a swagger guy. He wants the defense to be efficient, detailed, and aggressive. He's not saying it, but it's pretty obvious that attention to detail was lacking under Babich. Hopefully what he's saying isn't just words, but actual change. Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.
Quote:@vitostellino wash seems to suggest they didn't play with discipline under babich. They didn't I've been harping on that for months. Stupid mistakes extended drives for the opponent regularly Quote:With GB at head coach? Absolutely not. I simply do not believe coaching to have harmed this team. Lack of talent has. I want to see Bradley with some real talent on the field. This coming year if he has it I would expect much more success.

This has nothing to do with Babich.Maybe...maybe not. Maybe Wash had disagreements with how Babich ran the defense. Maybe now, Wash has the ability to implement the changes he couldn't before. Maybe Wash will have the talent to do it successfully. Worst to 1st. Curse Reversed!
Quote:We've been on the rise since 2007. 2015. 3 wins in 2014 and 5 wins in 2015, that's a 2 game improvement and is considered "on the rise" by NFL standards. FIFY
I survived the Gus Bradley Error.
Quote:Ok, well both Gus and Wash were on the coaching staff last year... This has nothing to do with Babich. So, after blasting Babich all year long for being a lousy coordinator, now that he's gone, we need to shift the blame. Amirite? Wash has done everything he can NOT to throw Babich under the bus, but it's pretty clear from his comments that there were some disagreements with the way things were being run on the defense. Sounds like Gus put a lot of trust in his coordinator. Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.
