Gus Bradley gets 1 year extension

Quote:I agree he'll go that way, too.You can't count the Fowler pick as a hit, or miss. Everybody agrees that the majority of entire 2013 draft was garbage, from top to bottom. He seemed to hit on Telvin and Colvin. He brought on Abry Jones as an UDFA in their first year I believe? He has been a solid player for us. Nick Marshall has some good developmental upside. As much as people love to hate on Josh Evans, he's a solid player for a 6th round draft pick. He's solid depth. Sample and Bennett are still unknowns. He has spent a total of 11 picks on Defense, of their total 25 picks. 6 of those 11 picks on Defense, have been in the 5th round or later. We show less advertisements to registered users. We won't know if will be good with higher selections... until it happens. I hope it will improve. It must. But I can't "call it" ahead of time. I've got to see it happen.

Quote:Chris ClemonsAll of them were pretty much signed as stop gaps/prove it contracts. Marks and Miller proved it. The ones who didn't were cut pretty quick. I don't think Brown will be around much longer either. None of them were signed to Thomas, or Odrick type deals. Quote:Marks is a stop gap? What do you think? He was a stop gap "signing" similar to Hood and Watson ,low risk high reward,it just so happened that the reward was extremely high with Marks. Quote:What do you think? We can hope he'll get back to pre-injury form.

IMO, we're relying too much on it and that's why Bortles presses, leading to mistakes.Agreed. We still need some help on the OL and the running game must be better next season. Yeldon isn't the issue though. Quote:Not disagreeing.Again, I agree. We can say we want to throw out the first 2 season's record, I guess that's fine, whatever. But this past season was gift wrapped for us and they could only scrape up 5 wins. There's absolutely no more excuses this 4th year. It's time to, just win baby. I still think Caldwell deserves a shot at a 2nd head coach hire, if/when Gus gets fired. Maybe it's just my opinion though. Quote:What do you think? He was a stop gap "signing" similar to Hood and Watson ,low risk high reward,it just so happened that the reward was extremely high with Marks. We have a different definition of "stop-gap." Caldwell clearly identified Marks as a player they believed would flourish in a different role. While they may have rolled the dice on him a bit -- they certainly knew what they were getting in other guys like Sergio Brown. Lower upside but possibly a mild upgrade. Then you have aging guys like Bryant and Clemons who I see as the true stop-gaps. A patch job for a year or two. I prefer not to lump a guy like Marks in with those guys, but I see why you choose to.

Quote:We have a different definition of "stop-gap." Nah your definition is more accurate, stop gap applies to Bryant and Clemons rather than the other guys. The rest were prove it types. Basically what I was trying to say is that guys on the list weren't major investments for the defense. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
Quote:Why dont you go root for another team then, you wont be missed BS. Khan cares about HIS global brand more than winning. He will JUMP at moving the Jags to London if and when that opportunity presents itself...from a source

Quote:Im one of the last supporters of Gus Bradley. This shows stability within the organization and not some mess like Cleveland. And yet Cleveland has a better record than Khan does.
Quote:And yet Cleveland has a better record than Khan does. And yet, I don't care. Both teams haven't done anything. Jacksonville is in a much better position and it's not even close.

Quote:From a source lol! Family is friends with another NFL ownership group. Khans game plan is to ultimately bolt to London overseas and dominate the global market. I don't give a [BLEEP] if you believe me or not.

Quote:And yet, I don't care. Both teams haven't done anything.Disagree. Cleveland has a better D and o line. Look the Jags have a great QB and good WRs. The o line is terrible, the head coach is awful, the kicker is worst in the league, the running game is ranked #26, the defense is 31st in scoring. Bortles is the ONLY reason to watch.
Quote:Haha. Guess you'll find out in a few years. Khan is spending all this money on the city to prove to the league he's worthy of London. That's how the league works; prove yourself. Khan is a con artist; you'll see. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
Quote:Disagree. Cleveland has a better D and o line. Browns in a better position? Ugh I can't even. Have a good night.

Quote:Browns in a better position? Ugh I can't even. Have a good night. Browns are a QB away. Jags are a defense, a head coach, a kicker, and an o line away. Not sold on Yeldon either, he's a backup on a good team. Quote:Browns are a QB away. Jags are a defense, a head coach, a kicker, and an o line away. Not sold on Yeldon either, he's a backup on a good team. I can't really take this ^ seriously, but I'll try. I'm not gonna try to analyze the Browns roster needs, but I do know the Jags stand to have about three times the cap space that they do - and they don't need a "defense" and an "o-line." Jags need a FS, a quality corner, a DE and a C/G depending on where AJ Cann plays next year. I think Yeldon will be fine running behind Linder, Parnell and a better center next year. |
