Lets play a mock draft game

#41

Quote:I have also heard about the possibility of Cann going to center. If this does happen, Jaguars would be able to throw more money at one of the other top prospects by "saving" $10 million by not signing Mack. This will be one of the toughest decisions he will have. If it enables them to sign Jenkins, Vernon or Irvin then it would probably worth the gamble. Tretola would be a solid pick in the 3rd to take Cann's spot since Beadles should be cut.
My thoughts exactly

Good stuff!

My latest using the Matt Miller Board:

5: R1P5 - S JALEN RAMSEY - FSU

Upgrades the back end of the Defense pretty much the first day he steps on the field. Might need to teach him some technique and how to play NFL Defense, but this is a no-brainer I feel like.

39: R2P8 - OLB NOAH SPENCE - EASTERN KENTUCKY

Gotta admit, this is a risk here and I don't really like taking risks so early in the Draft but the man can play ball. I reached a bit, but I did so with the understanding that there were no concerns about his drug abuse moving forward. A really big 'if" I know, but I think he's worth a stretch.

70: R3P7 - OLB JORDAN JENKINS - GEORGIA

Just a lot of talent here to grab in the Third. I feel like he has the versatility to play any of the LB spots and he has played in several different schemes throughout his college career.

101: R4P6 - WR BRAXTON MILLER - OHIO STATE

I don't think I've done a mock draft yet where Jacksonville doesn't take Miller.

132: R5P5 - CB DEIONDRE HALL - NORTHERN IOWA

Small school cover corner that I don't know a lot about but seemed like a good fit.

165: R6P8 - OLB ERIC STRIKER - OKLAHOMA

Too much talent to not draft. You're going to have to be creative with him, but that's okay. Find a way to get him on the field and let him terrorize an Offense.

183: R6P26 - C AUSTIN BLYTHE - IOWA

Gotta have a big guy.

196: R7P7 - CB DEANDRE HOUSTON-CARSON - WILLIAM & MARY

Special Teams Ace who brings athleticism to the Defensive backfield.

Undrafted Free Agents of note / interest were ILB Tyler Matakevich and DE/OLB Victor Ochi.

I'm trying to make myself more informed and less opinionated.

Stop saying whatever stupid thing you're talking about and pay attention to all the interesting things I have to say!

Just to clarify things Deiondre Hall (Northern Iowa) played Free Safety this year and racked all his INT playing centerfield. His future is more at FS than at CB.

Why does Fanspeak keep on pushing S. Lawson to the Second?

This would be a great draft. It actually would be a possibility if Ogbah and Johnson don't "light it up" at the combine. The top 3 picks would become immediate starters (or in the rotation) and the rest would upgrade the depth at their respective positions. Ochi is intriguing, but time will tell if he's big enough to succeed at the NFL level. He's definitely worth a 6th rounder to find out.

I think it leans too heavily on team need when autodrafting for teams. Last year I saw the simulator draft 3-4 guys at the same position back to back to back to back.

My Miller board draft, with Ramsey, Jack, and Bosa all gone:

Almost went Javon Hargrave in the 7th. My plan would be to sign Olivier Vernon, Trumaine Johnson, and a FA T to compete with Joeckel.

If Bosa, Vernon, and Spence with Fowler, Marks, and Odrik can't fix the pass rush, I don't know what will.
