Who won't renew tix?

I know your kind of having fun but just like how Jags fans should be appreciative of Khan the city of Jacksonville should be appreciative of Governor Scott with his commitment to improving the Job market in the state of Florida and more specifically Jacksonville.

Dont want to go to far into the politics of this.

I know, I just look at what these kids are getting into with the job market the way it is and I don't know that it's reasonable for us to think we're going to get a huge crop of Millennials lining up to buy season tickets, even with all the good things the owner is doing to entice them in. These folks have limited job options and huge levels of debt in their early 20s, their income is already under strain without a luxury purchase like an NFL ticket.

Not enough general bowl season tickets being sold. It must increase. I could be way off here but I don't think so. We will have more info on this after the State of the Jaguars presser/function.

im assuming the renovations to the club seats will help but those are sparse and tend to fill in well after kickoff, the majority of the non sold tix are typically the upper decks.

I agree, the State of the Jaguars will provide more information.

There are season tickets that are $19 per game. Cost has essentially been eliminated from the list as reason not to attend.  Folks can even take in their own food. If someone wants to attend they will. If they don't they wont. The facts are not enough purchase season tickets at the current time. That is why we lost one of our games to London. If things do not improve we will lose them all eventually. Wins and losses simply cannot be the determining factor for support. That's not the way it works in the NFL.

$19 per game is pretty substantial to a kid making $10 an hour with 30k in school debt.

For me, it's not a financial thing. It is an entertainment value to time spent thing.

I disagree. If this person makes the game a priority then he would cut back elsewhere. Out of curiosity. Where do think the price point would have to be in order to eliminate cost as a legitimate reason to not attend. $15, $10, $5? C'mon $19 bucks eliminates cost as a reason to not attend.

I understand. I'm not judging anyone here. Just stating my opinions. I fully understand you are showing your displeasure with the on field performance with your wallet. That is most certainly your prerogative. Hopefully not too many folks  do the same as it will eventually cost us our team. If folks quit going...the teams going.

Both excellent points!

I go back to the days I was in college and drove to Jax from Tally to go to a FEW Jags games probably 5-6 games. My desire to go far outweighed my financial concern.

I was able to get tix for around 10-15 dollars. Usually I would to Mcdonalds before the game so im not hungry and thats taken care of.

If I couldn't get a good deal before kickoff I would  stand by roll call and wait after kickoff where they would sell for appx 10 dollars or even less.

I always made my decisions wisely though. If I had to make a decision between gas and jags tix, and I was on my last 20 dollars gas would win out.

And if/when that happens, Jacksonville won't be the only market struggling.  The league as a whole will be.

Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

Ok so for $19 dollars a game you get to sit in a seat with the Honor Rows and it accounts for maybe 2,000 seats. That is a ploy by the team to try and fill those seats that are ALWAYS open on TV; they removed the tarps and figured that they were get $0 a seat before so $19 a game is a gem! Actually it is only $19 a game if you count two glorified scrimmages. The fans get ripped off for two meaningless pre-season games every year and then take away one meaningful game a year to England (and usually it is against a team that would allow us to sell a lot of tickets). Why not take a pre-season game somewhere else and allow the fans to save some money.

$19 dollars for a ticket (that's if you buy a season ticket), plus you have to pay for parking, then you have food/drinks cost unless you want to sip out of the water fountain and keep missing the game.

My wife and I easily spent $30 dollars a game for 3 water bottles and 2 gatorades each for every game this year; there wasn't a cool game. Our parking pass was an additional $25 dollars a game.

So now your $19 dollar ticket just turned into $60 dollars every game.

$19 ticket

$25 parking pass

$15 hydration

= $59 total cost

This doesn't include gas to get to the game and any food that you will need to eat. Heck even McD's will cost an additional $5-7 dollars. So on average that $19 dollar ticket will likely cost someone between $70-$80 a game.

That is very costly for someone that might be tight on money.

The problem with that is that the government has told everyone that they can achieve a college education. It is happening nationwide; when I was a child I didn't get a trophy if we can in last place. Now, everyone gets a trophy; no one is allowed to fail and is moved forward. The reason for the younger generation having financial issues is because at 21 or 22 years of age they have never had any responsibility and have had mom and dad bail them out time and again. It is also comical how a 22 year old thinks they should be paid 6 figures a year straight out of college and often are let down when they have to take an entry level job that pays just above minimum wage. It is all a sham with the education system ( they are a business too and must make money) and they accept as many students as possible to boost enrollment and revenues. It is a sad situation for sure.

My bet is those that aren't renewing this year will be back in a flash as soon as the team starts winning again.  This is what we call "bandwagon fans".  Nobody's judging you, I just wish Jax had enough hardcore fans to keep the stadium full during hard times and making it more difficult for the bandwagon jumpers to get back on when the time comes.  That would make me laugh.

I'm condescending. That means I talk down to you.

You took the ticket price and manipulated it to suit your requirements.

A frugal person will take food from their house, ride the bus to the game, and drink water . So yes, a little over $20 and if someone really wanted to they would go. Cost simply cannot be a factor in most cases. A full time minimum wage earner could do that easily 9 times a year.

LOL -- here's the breakdown of my $72 ticket

$72 ticket

$25 Parking

$90 dehydration

= $187 total cost

Khan bought this team not because of the Jax job market.. he bought the team because he wanted to be an owner in the fraternity of owners and this one was the only one for sale.

The game itself is an entertainment product. If you're not entertained unless the team wins then by all means you shouldn't renew tickets. And if you jump back on the wagon when the team starts winning then that's completely understandable and acceptable (to me anyway). But lets show appreciation to those who buy season tickets despite losing seasons because they are the people who keep the team in Jacksonville allowing the others to jump back on during winning seasons.

I bought 2 season tickets for 18 years, one of which was never used because my wife stopped going, only to give them up when my seat neighbors decided not to renew. So I buy a single ticket off the street now. At least there is a fanny in the seat cheering for the boys in teal.

I renewed again for the 19th year. And just like I have posted most of the whining losers were never going to purchase or renew anyway. Ticket sales are on target and that is before normal period when ticket sales surge after free agent signings and the draft. IMO we will be better by about 3 wins but games will be more competitive and exciting to watch finally. Go Jags.

The fire the passion the great tailgating. You are giving that up why? It is family time and admiration for your team.

Memories like Jaxson rolling in on a dirt bike. And joining in on J-A-G-U-A-R-S Go Jaguars chant are priceless!

It is more then just the ticket. The tailgating. The games for the kids. Like the bounce house and Rope course.

The wearing a real jersey and putting on the Helmet in A pic with the Emblem. The roar of the crowd. The excitement. Ya cant get that at home.

Ya dont get to take pics with Jaguars Cheerleaders at home. Or share the priceless moments. Or saying the ref is blind and several people agree with ya.

I am excited when get to go to a Jaguars game. And if blown out so what. Still had a blast. If win big can be in glory with many other fans!

So saying will stop buying tickets over a coach really? Maybe just need to experience outside of your comfort zone. And be apart of the game day before and after action.

Not just be in the seat during the game. To realize the greatness of being a Jags fan!
