In a way, he reminds me of a Muhammed Ali or Apollo Creed type of guy. He's at the top of his game, on the biggest stage, and just happens to play a different sport.


We're just not used to seeing that type of "flash" or "personality" from the NFL QB position to date.

Muhammad Ali would have never put on the mopey post game pressers Cam has put on when things didn't go his way. He is a child. When he wins, he is celebrated for his youthful excitement, but when he loses, he is a whiny female dog. I respect his game, but Cam (Ham.. Scam..) the human being is not someone I would want to spend any time with.

The NFL is starting to be a drain to me with the over analysis of a game.  I mean really CBS you have Jay Feely explaining a missed extra point.  UGHHHHHHHHHH!!!!

 

I don't like Cam's antics but I really don't like Peyton Manning.  We all know he pushed the boundaries to squeeze out some extra millions and repair the nerve damage.  This is sports.  It bugs me more that people are applying "team" feelings to their political parties.

Like I said, I may not appreciate some of his field behavior but it's a game and it's not as if he's playing dirty, constantly berating his opponent etc.


The other factor is perspective. I have an old school view of things. The "finish the play", hand the ball to ref, etc but others like the celebrations, the Superman gesture. More power to them. I'm not going to hate the guy for it. You have to respect the play he's had this year.

Newton has been a unique personality for me.  He has done nothing but positive things off the field in Carolina community and has produced way more than what he has been paid on the field.  All of his teammates love him, feed off his positive energy and elevated their game.  Never once did he complained about getting cheap shots, cheating, or play dirty -- hello, Brady and Suh -- and his way of responding to all of that is to "dap it in your face" whenever he scores.  With the way some of the media and some fans try to over sensationalize his personality, I've always seen him as an underdog in the NFL. 

 

He's a once in a generational talent as a football player, and the more people root against him, the more I want to see him succeed.
