He's not wrong though. Davon House would probably be an above average starting CB if this team wasn't historically bad at rushing the passer every single year since the early 2000s.

He is above average with the bad pass rush, he is like 3rd in the NFL in pass breakups and also added 3 picks

Well. Gratz did get benched. Twice. It just took too long to happen the second time.

Gratz did not play a down in four games in 2015 and played only ST in three others. Just to be clear.

I'm sure we'd all have been fine with even less.

Gratz should not be on the roster come next season.

That's part of why I don't understand people wanting us to draft VH3. House and Colvin are both good to great CBs with at least an average pass rush. I'm not opposed to adding another CB because you can never have enough. At the top of the 1st though? There are too many other glaring holes that we need talent at to take a CB that high.

I'm inclined to agree. The only knock on House was his lack of INTs. I personally don't care about picks as much as his high PD totals...and this is with one of the worst pass rushing fronts I've ever seen. I think Colvin has similar potential as well although it might take another year for everything to click for him.

I think Colvin has similar potential as well although it might take another year for everything to click for him.

In terms of talent I consider Colvin to be the 2nd best player on our defense by a healthy margin. I think that will be more apparent next year with a better pass rush and another year of experience.
