'X-Files' Creator: 'I Thought The FBI Was Going To Shut Me Down'

Quote:I just watched the first segment. That's all I want to see. It immediately reminded me of why I don't watch network programming anymore. They immediately go political, the dialogue is predictable, and production effects are cheap. I'm disappointed but not surprised. They do try to work in some cleavage shots of Gillian Anderson though. She's had a lot of work done.
The second episode was completely different than the first. Thank God because the political stuff about make me puke.

Fox heroes have a hard life man. House winds up a friendless fugitive, jack bauer gets taken out of a foreign cage for 24 hours only to recaptured shortly after watching his love interest die in his arms. Mulder and scully didn't stay together. Its like shondah rhymes or something.

Highly disappointing.  It's like they were thinking "How can we disappoint people most?"

I was wrong about Trent Baalke.

I am with the majority here. I am fairly easy to please. I have been down on the new episodes of the X-Files. They have been extremely hokey. The lizard man one was terrible. I'll keep watching and hope it gets better, back to what it was, or at least a shadow of,

I think that was it, they advertised a Six episode special that was number six.

I was a huge X-Files fan and I thought these six episodes were horrible.

I think though they left the door open to continue the series, based on ratings. I haven't seen the ratings.

Just looked up what I could get as far as ratings go. I don't think, based on these numbers they will be renewing another season.

The original shows crushed these numbers. http://tvline.com/2016/02/23/x-files-fin...s-revival/

Quote:'X-Files' Creator: 'I Thought The FBI Was Going To Shut Me Down'

A mysterious man told Chris Carter that his conspiracy-themed TV classic was too close to the truth.

Alien conspiracies, monsters, cryptids, mutants, paranormal phenomena -- just a typical day for the fictional FBI agents of "The X-Files."

But how close to fiction was it?

Creator, writer and director Chris Carter tells a real-life tale about the show in its early days that's worthy of the show's catchphrase, "The truth is out there."

One would have to think it was referring to the Alien part of the show.
