Who's "your guy(s)"?

Quote:Is this a real question? It is way too early to call a draft prospect the next Luke Kuechly or NaVorro Bownman. Let's see what they Myles Jack does at the combine first. But it is pretty obvious if Jack would be an upgrade over Poz, he should be on our wish list. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today! Quote:If NFL draft analysts did not rank Jalen Ramsey in the top 5 (Bucky Brooks named him #1 on his board), I would assume most of the love he gets here is coming from FSU fans who watch him with crimson and gold glasses. As it is, Ramsey has been mocked to the Jaguars and named a top 5 talent by multiple football experts. I want to see if people who don't care about the Seminoles fans either way agree with FSU fans on how good Ramsey is. Crimson? Really? Come on JW, you're better than this. Stop looking like a rook. Garnet, #33

Quote:I would like to see Jack used at Otto or taking poz's reps in the nickel package eventually taking Poz's role entirely. Or we can try him out at two positions during his rookie season (if he is our pick) like when J.T. Thomas was our Otto.

Quote:I would like to see Jack used at Otto or taking poz's reps in the nickel package eventually taking poz's role entirelyHe would play that if we drafted him, and if he is amazing early on, he could take Poz spot as a rookie

Quote:I haven't noticed a thread of this type yet, so I apologize if this has already been started and if it has, would a great and powerful Mod please merge? So I wanted to add on some names to my list and give some more info on the ones already listed. Braxton Miller checked in at the Senior Bowl with measurements of: <p style="margin-left:40px;"> <p style="margin-left:40px;">Height - 6' 1 3/8" <p style="margin-left:40px;">Weight - 204 lbs <p style="margin-left:40px;">Hand Size - 9 1/8" <p style="margin-left:40px;">Arm Length - 30 7/8" <p style="margin-left:40px;">Wing Span - 75 5/8" None of those numbers scares me away and just makes me more excited to watch him practice. Noah Spence (New addition). I'm really intrigued by this guy even though he is a big risk as far as drug usage goes. He not only got booted from his team, the whole damn League kicked him out! Regardless, he has a crazy amount of talent but his measurements are a little underwhelming: <p style="margin-left:40px;">Height - 6' 2 1/2" <p style="margin-left:40px;">Weight - 254 lbs <p style="margin-left:40px;">Hand Size - 10" <p style="margin-left:40px;">Arm Length - 31" <p style="margin-left:40px;">Wing Span - 74" <p style="margin-left:40px;"> DeAndre Houston-Carson checks in about as expected: <p style="margin-left:40px;">Height - 6' 7/8" <p style="margin-left:40px;">Weight - 197 lbs <p style="margin-left:40px;">Hand Size - 8 5/8" <p style="margin-left:40px;">Arm Length - 29 7/8" <p style="margin-left:40px;">Wing Span - 74 1/2"
I'm trying to make myself more informed and less opinionated.
Stop saying whatever stupid thing you're talking about and pay attention to all the interesting things I have to say!

Regardless, he has a crazy amount of talent but his measurements are a little underwhelming. This is exactly why I don't want the Jaguars to select Noah Spence. For the Big Ten to kick him out instead of just Ohio State, his drug problem must have been more severe than other athletes who make similar mistakes. We don't need another Justin Blackmon on the team. Quote:How about let's worry about upgrading the offensive line? We could actually use a new starter on it. Who says we can't do both ? We have plenty of picks.

Looks like teams are absolutely loving what they see and hear from Noah Spence. Not sure he makes it to the second round anymore.
Shock the world

Yea there's no chance he makes it to the 2nd round, I expect him to go in the 10-15 range. Robert Quinn had character concerns coming out of North Carolina a few years ago as well, it's worked out well for St Louis. Freakish pass rushers like Spence just don't come around too often, there's a risk in drafting a guy with character concerns but the reward and upside is too great for teams to pass on.
Quote:Probably depends on how many GMs are scared off by the off-the-field stuff at this point. Yeah. I've seen a lot of tweets saying it looks and sounds like all that stuff is behind him and he's humbled to be there, etc. Bringing major energy to each drill. He and Fowler would be beasts together.

So, hypothetically, if he is going to have a Robert Quinn type of impact, why not select him at 5? I don't care about pre draft rankings and mocks, if he's going to be a 10-15 sack guy per year he is definitely worth the 5th pick.

I'm probably in the minority here but I'd have no problem with the Jags considering him at 5, with the obvious assumption that the off the field stuff checks out alright. A more ideal scenario is to trade back to 10-12 and select him there, picking up an additional 2nd or 3rd rounder in the process. He is worth going at 5 but its the the question marks, which I would maybe trade back a lil bit in the top ten and take him, at least you get extra picks just in case lol jagforlife85 beat me too it

So if Noah Spence had no character concerns, everybody would be saying he should be a top 10 pick? That would be like Randy Moss dropping to #21 because of his off field issues at Marshall. Trade back scenario for him would be absolutely perfect. I would be a little nervous about the Giants selecting him at 10, though.

Quote:Trade back scenario for him would be absolutely perfect. I would be a little nervous about the Giants selecting him at 10, though. The one concern with Spence is can he hold up against the run? He's like 250 Lbs, not sure if he's strong enough to set the edge. Which means teams will run right at him when hes in the game, which would relegate him to a situational pass rusher type role. The Jags would have to get creative in how they use, stand him up on 1st and 2nd down and let him rush on 3rd, similar to how John Fox used Von Miller in Denver. The difference is Miller is a super freak and can cover, set the edge and rush the passer. |
