Senior Bowl players of special interest

Quote:Myers was actually just fine in FG percentage (13th in league I believe)

It was the missed extra points and the fact he missed two FGs in one game early on that was so frustrating.

His FG kicking was pretty good after the bye.

Still - I posted the bit about Martin for a reason. If they can sign him undrafted - that's good camp competition.

Anyone who watched our game at Tennessee knows how important those extra points are. We can't afford another year of that.

Thirteenth is not good enough for a team that struggles to get in the end zone.

Mike Dirocco seems to think the Jags may have an eye on Bronson Kaufusi. Interesting prospect given his age and the fact he's not the prototypical LEO at 6'6 and a svelte 281 pounds. He's a beast on tape though.

Yup, Dirocco was gushing hard on him.

To try to get away from kicker talk...

I am quite shocked that Braxton Miller has made such a great transition to WR. People saying he's a lock for top 50 and not a stretch first rounder. Crazy.

That is insane. Braxton Miller has only played WR one season.

Although WR is the primary position Miller will play on Saturday, I think Cowboys coaches also want to see what he can do at RB. He often lined up there and sometimes took direct snaps from the wildcat. Watch the North team practices and see how much work he gets from behind the LOS.

Really is crazy. He's getting rave reviews.

The special teams part is interesting. Apparently Cowboys coaches want to see Braxton Miller do everything.

The wildcat is dead. He may take an end around or two but he'll be primarily a WR in the NFL. Think Randal Cobb.

I know he will primarily be a WR. It just seems to me the Cowboys should try him out at RB to see what he can do there.

Quote:Shawn Oakman and Dadi Nicolas struggled tremendously. Nicolas looks clueless out there and Oakman can’t anchor against the run or rush the passer at all. Both look like fringe draftable talent

It's just one day but I hope Nicolas can come thru. He's an intriguing physical prospect.

I am not intrigued by anyone who struggles in practice just because he has the size, speed, etc. What is so difficult for him - stopping the run, pass rushing, tackling, or everything? Are the problems fixable? Is he a late round project?

Not to overstate the obvious, but keep an eye on the pass rushers.  Caldwell's interview just posted at the Senior Bowl was interesting in that he said he could see adding 2-3 pass rushers (either in free agency and/or the draft).  I think many on the board in their posted mocks have one pass rusher.  Based on his comment, it would not surprise me to see him pay for a pass rusher in free agency, and then follow it up with 2 more in the draft.  He mentioned in the same interview that he would like a pass rusher to play opposite Fowler on passing downs, similar to what he [Dave] had in Indy with Mathis and Freeney.

Suffice to say you will probably see a much different looking front 7 next year.

That is amazing. Braxton Miller never thought about playing WR before last year. He liked being a quarterback and was very good at it, which is why there were rumors he might transfer.
