Sheldon Rankins was one of the most impressive prospects all week. Mike Mayock and Daniel Jeremiah called him "a sure first round pick." That sounds like it would be a shocker to see him drop into the second round.

And the Jaguars only interview at the Senior Bowl was with a receiver. That just about tells you how much those meetings actually mean in the grand scheme of things.

Those teams aren't the one that's coaching him all week. /shrugs

You're obviously not going to change your opinion on this. If you feel like he's worthy of a top 5 pick, that's great, that's your opinion. But my opinion (and probably 99% of any reputable draft analysis) is that he won't even sniff the top 5, and rightfully so.

Pretty much all the "reputable draft analysis" are ranking him as a top 20 prospect at the very least. Some even have him just outside of the top 10. So yeah...

Two players who have not done well in the team interviews are Eastern Kentucky's Noah Spence and Southern Utah's Miles Killebrew. Spence had off-the-field issues at Ohio State and Eastern Kentucky with a year long suspension, transfer, and arrest for public intoxication. Teams weren't impressed with how Spence answered their questions.

Everybody around the league expects the Denver Broncos to use the franchise tag on linebacker Von Miller, but if he somehow hits free agency, expect the Jaguars to make a big play for Miller. Jacksonville has a ton of money available and they badly need a difference-maker on the defensive side of the ball. If Miller isn't slapped with the tag, the Jaguars are willing to overpay to get him to come to Jacksonville.

Just hearing he's been the most consistent north DB. Doing really well showing off his football IQ by getting everyone in the right position and has looked great covering tight ends and running backs.

What I don't like is the fact that we don't even know what the injury is yet, so it makes no sense to believe dropping to the second round is a realistic possibility based on that. If it is just an MCL sprain, there is no chance Sheldon Rankins will move down in the mocks solely because he did not play in the Senior Bowl.
