Newton could use a little more modesty and dignity

Quote:I'm apparently not taking this seriously enough. LOL. None of this is of any importance to me, but I'll try (again) to be clear. Yeah, I really do think that's the issue. Some people are taking this much too seriously for their own good. Some people aren't into what he does. Simple as that, you don't get along with everyone in life. Not everything needs to be over analyzed. I'm sure there are many many things in my personal life that you don't like, and guess what I really don't care. There are professional athletes that I like that do things that you probably don't like and I really don't care. The only reason anyone cares in this instance is because its Super Bowl time and the media is going to shove it down your throat. Fyi, the reason Cam Newton and most of his celebrations don't bother me are because most of them seem to be off the cuff and not rehearsed. There are some where he holds it a bit too long and it becomes more of a me moment than anything, but you can see past that because you can tell he's having fun. Many of the guys that get a first down (mostly receivers) are doing it to rub it in the db's face, its calculated and rehearsed. As far as the fans....its normal people with every day lives letting go for three hours. I'm sure you can look in the stands of any Jaguar game and see drunk idiots everywhere and say they aren't classy.
Quote:We get it. Players like Cam, AROB, DROB, and Hurns are lacking in character. We get it from you too.....we know your position too, but you continue to post. Don't say this about somebody and then continue to do the same thing that you're telling them. You are not credible Quote:We get it. Players like Cam, AROB, DROB, and Hurns are lacking in character.Yeah. I should have said "class" instead of "character." Would have been a better word choice. Either way - you still don't "get it" and I'm fairly certain you never will. But, by all means, flame on. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today! From my observations how come white players don't come up with celebrations. Is it because they don't have rhythm.

Johnny Manziel does or at least used to do the money thing, but we questioned his character.
Quote:From my observations how come white players don't come up with celebrations. Is it because they don't have rhythm.I can say this white boy is rhythm-less. Like NONE! AT ALL. Perhaps I just found the underlying issue on why I prefer the modest fist pump.
I pray someone hates Allen Robinson so I can launch an intense crusade to defend my waifu favorite receiver against these cyber infidels
THERE IS A SKELETON INSIDE OF YOU.
RIGHT NOW. THIS IS NOT A JOKE. Quote:I pray someone hates Allen Robinson so I can launch an intense crusade to defend my <del>waifu</del> favorite receiver against these cyber infidelsWell, I wasn't going to say anything in a Cam Newton thread. But since you brought it up, I, quite frankly, don't particularly care for the lack of dreads and tattoos. It shows a complete lack of dedication. I'm not sure how far he expects to make it in the NFL looking like he does. Let alone become elite. A little teardrop tat under the eye and dye in the hair would do him wonders, to be quite honest. There are just as many racist blacks as there are whites. I always liked Cam bit to pull the race card is one thing I dont agree with. You have BET, black beauty pageants, black college's etc.. If there was a White Entertainment Television orWhite Beauty Pageant that would be rasist. The great players always get bashed at certain times for 1 reason or another and Cam is no different. Tebow got bashed more than anyone and he is the most standup guy and goodie goodie there is.
I couldnt care less what anyony thinks about my Jags or the players. People need get thicker skin and quit worring about you cant control
He certainly does make it harder on himself to be liked.
But that's just it. He doesn't care what others think, he's just being himself. For better or worse. I'll admit it was hard for me to like Cam, given his past and even some of his present. But at the same time I recognize how good he is and how much fun he's having. Can't fault him for either of those things, even if I can fault him for others (that really have nothing to do with how he plays the game.)

you people are falling hard.
media is creating a stupid argument and you are buying it. The nfl wants him to be a showman or they would have stopped him,its an entertainment business. furthermore they have spent all day on him talking about one sentence...one stupid sentence. no one/media isnt talking about Panthers 17-1 record. Just this and and the world loving Peyton. stop wasting time with it. Stuff like this helps promote racism in the first place Quote:There are just as many racist blacks as there are whites. I always liked Cam bit to pull the race card is one thing I dont agree with. You have BET, black beauty pageants, black college's etc.. If there was a White Entertainment Television orWhite Beauty Pageant that would be rasist. [sic]I fully anticipate this thread being shut down soon. However, since it remains open, I will address the points presented within as I see fit. 1. BET is white owned and has been since 2000. http://www.nytimes.com/2000/11/04/busine...llion.html 2. BET was created because black artists, by and large, were being ignored by MTV at the time, as were black consumers. Here is David Bowie, in 1983, describing what he saw on MTV at the time. http://www.ew.com/article/2016/01/11/dav...blasts-mtv The funny thing is, there is marketing towards particular demographics based upon immutable characteristics all the time without any complaint from those of your ilk. Lifetime touts itself as "Television for Women." El Rey and Spike TV clearly market themselves towards a young male demographic, but there's nary a peep from you accusing those networks of sexism. But apparently, something is innately wrong with marketing to black consumers. As far as black colleges are concerned, black colleges were created because white colleges and universities denied admission to blacks on the basis of their color. Blacks were faced with two options:
Keep in mind, HBCUs have not discriminated and do not, as a matter of policy, discriminate against whites who want to matriculate within their walls. While the majority of the student populations at HBCUs are black, there have been and are white students and faculty at these institutions. Lest you think the passage of the Civil Rights Act and related laws eliminated the need for these institutions to exist, three points. 1. Why should these HBCUs close because these laws were passed? The HBCUs weren't the ones discriminating and making the Civil Rights laws necessary in the first place. 2. People who still harbor racial animus against blacks continue to work to weaken those Civil Rights laws. Prudence mandates keeping these institutions open as a safeguard against reactionary political forces that would seek to undermine the gains made by people of color. 3. Many have no problem with blacks representing the majority population in negative contexts like ghettos or prisons, but when it comes to something positive like higher education, suddenly there is a problem. Worst to 1st. Curse Reversed!
