Johnny Manziel saga

I don't doubt that something happened.

Is this a case of "pay me to keep my mouth shut"?

Apparently Fort Worth and Dallas police could not charge Johnny Manziel because Colleen Crowley refused to cooperate with the investigation.

Of course, the NFL is doing its own investigation, so the truth will come out somehow.

This is way more than alcohol. Dude's probably popping pills.

When your own dad is saying stuff like this to newspapers it's really bad. To thinks how many of us wanted him on our team.

That's what I find stupid about the Manziel to Dallas statements.
Jerry Jones would surely have changed his position on Manziel after seeing his continual off-field screw ups the last two years. A lot of us wanted the Jags to draft him. I doubt anyone here still wants him now, even as a backup.

Cut the guy some slack.  He's just bolstering his resume to assure he lands in Dallas.

Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

It's not stupid.  Dallas has established a track record of rolling the dice on players who have questionable pasts off the field.  I don't think any of the reports over the past couple of years would scare Jerry Jones off.

I believe PFT came out and said Dallas had no interest after the whole abuse angle.  They just posted this.

“I truly believe if they can’t get him help, he won’t live to see his 24th birthday,” Paul Manziel said.

When your dad is talking like that, there are serious issues.  I can't imagine any team takes a chance on someone when a kids father is talking like that.

If Paul Manziel feels that way about Johnny, why isn't he taking the matter into his own hands? It is his job as a father to do something about this.

It has escalated into a very serious situation. I really hope that he gets the help he deserves. Mentally, I believe the guy would be willing to do it. Heavy drinking like he does at the expense of a prestigious job in the NFL tells me he's mentally unstable

It's not his job as a father anymore.  His son is a legal adult and can make his own decisions.  A parent loses all their basic rights in making decisions when a kid turns 18....Johnny is a big boy now.

I don't feel sorry for him one bit nor do I think he is serious trouble of any kind.

He's the exact same as many 20 something year olds. Immature ,won't take responsibility for his actions, likes to drink when he shouldn't (not an alcoholic) ,lies, seemingly unable to learn from past mistakes.

The only difference is his lack of maturity is being played out in the media in front of everyone, add this is in with fact that he's very rich and was a national icon at Texas A and M is why we have the current [BLEEP] show that is Johnny Manziel.

Forget rehab or jail or special counseling or a team to people to help him. The guy just needs to take responsibility for his actions and grow up. Everyone has to do it at some point so why shouldn't he.

It is obvious you are wrong here. There are big differences in this case and they are all between his ears. Suicide threats are NOT normal no matter how immature a person is. People who do it are mentally sick. They need anti-psychotic drugs and counseling. If there is any truth to the "I will kill us both" part, Manziel is not just immature, but in need of psychological help.

That is why I wonder why his dad has not done anything for him. If this started before his 18th birthday, his parents were responsible for giving him the help he needed.
