I have a hard time believing he was actually suicidal.  He had plenty of opportunity to do it or attempt it.

 

I'm guessing IF he did say it, it was for something similar to as you said.  He said it to get to her.

That is why I wonder why his dad has not done anything for him. If this started before his 18th birthday, his parents were responsible for giving him the help he needed.

Because sometimes parents don't know the extent of the issue. Sometimes they don't want to admit it. Sometimes teens grow out of certain behaviors. As it is, unless he's an obvious danger to himself or someone else, no one can help him. He's an adult and his parents have no say over him. All they can do is try to talk to him and help him see reason but if he doesn't want to then he won't. Period. 

 

I actually attempted suicide almost 8 years ago and not ONE SINGLE PERSON close to me saw it coming. When I got out of the hospital I still wanted to die and had to check myself into another psych hospital so I wouldn't try it again and still- no one saw it. And I was right in front of them. 

 

Things are not always easy to see.

You go to the Clerk of Court, apply for one and a judge decides yay or nay.  It doesn't seem to take much for a person to get one sometimes.  It doesn't have to be some major or violent incident.

I can assure you from personal experience in similar behavior patterns whether from myself or someone close to me- this dude needs psychological help. Whether it's to help him take responsibility for his actions or something more serious doesn't matter.

His behaviour patterns reeks of a spoiled rich kid who's always gotten what he's wanted from people and now finds himself having to be accountable for his own actions in the NFL,I'm sure he'll get psychological help but really he just needs to grow up.
