Jalen Ramsey

Quote:No way in hell Ramsey is the third overall best prospect. Dangit! Missed it!
I'm trying to make myself more informed and less opinionated.

Quote:I'm not usually a stats guy. But 3 INTs and 4 forced fumbles over 3 years is a bit concerning if we're drafting a guy at 3 to be a centerfielderWe pick at 5 but I agree
Ed Reed had 21 INTs at Miami
Reggie Nelson had 7 in 2 years at UF Jalen Ramsey had 3 in 3 years at FSU We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
I personally don't see the truly elite talent at the top of this draft, as I have in previous years. I feel that the guys we are likely going to see available at pick 5, were similar in quality to guys in the 10-15 range in other drafts.
Quote:Ed Reed had 21 INTs at MiamiKarl Joseph had 5 in 4 games this year at WV and looks like a Bob Sanders clone. If he runs a good 40 get this guy Quote:Ed Reed had 21 INTs at Miami Tanner McEvoy had 6 last year at Wisconsin after playing primarily QB the previous years.

Shock the world

I just absolutely love the potential he and Fowler would have. Game changing, team changing potential.

While we're on the INT thing:
Thompson had 19 picks at Boise State. Could be there in the second...
All I see is Ramsey Ramsey Ramsey Ramsey, but nobody has backed it up yet as to why? Is it because he is projected high so people just assume he's the pick? Is it because he has a cool name (TMD school of drafting). Is it because FSU?
He stands out athletically, he has fire to his game, he has measurables you want to see, but the lack of production and game tape is really concerning to me for drafting him at 5. Someone convince me he's the guy, please, because we do need a FS almost as bad as we need DLine.
Shock the world
Considering all the hype surrounding Ramsey and everyone mocking him to us those numbers are indeed a concern.
Karl Joseph was really an intriguing prospect at the safety position for what I saw. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
Quote:Considering all the hype surrounding Ramsey and everyone mocking him to us those numbers are indeed a concern. Literally looks like the Earl Thomas of college football. Ramsey has a high ceiling, though. If he produces like some think he will, he could be like an Eric Berry clone. But our defense needs a Thomas more than a Berry.

Quote:Literally looks like the Earl Thomas of college football.I agree, I loved everything I saw from Joseph so far. (and damn he hits hard)Is he projected to go first round or any chance he slips to the second? Ramsey seems like a great athlete, but I don't know...drafting a guy at 5 who hasn't even played the position consistently seems a bit of a bet to me. I'd rather draft a Jack or Spence (and was big on Jaylon Smith before the injury). Surely Ramsey has a high ceiling given his qualities like you said.

Joseph is projected all over the place, but I think when it's all said and done, he will go in the second round. I'm absolutely praying for a Spence/Jack round 1, Joseph round 2 draft.

I know Joseph played FS in 2012 and 2013 - but didn't he play SS in 2014 and the start of last year? I don't know a whole lot about him. Does he project better at FS than SS in the NFL? The scouting reports I read all seem to highlight his SS skill set.

He has the center field type of sideline to sideline speed, but he also has that in the box tackling intangibles. If we drafted him, I could easily see him playing all over the place, but manning center field would be his top priority.

A lot of people seem to think his physicality would better suit him as an in-the-box safety, but I am intrigued at the thought of using him how Seattle does with Earl Thomas. His biggest concern coming into this season was his coverage skills, but he looked pretty good the few games he played this year (5 pick in only a few games). The thought of this guy laying the wood (seriously one of the hardest hitters I've seen come out in a long time) and getting interceptions from the center-fielder spot is intriguing. For the record, I am terrible at evaluating deep safeties. I thought Cody Prewitt was going to be a stud... |
