Blake Bortles Qb Ucf

Quote:I think Teddy's a better QB than Bortles. Higher upside, and higher floor. Thus -any- QB needy team that passes on Teddy would be foolish.

As another poster said...."QB pro days" are practically worthless. Its playing "catch" with uncovered WR's....

Quote:This is probably Bortles biggest fail. How do you mess that up?

If you're pulling that as a college kid. Don't you owe it to yourself, and to us, to see what you can pull as a NFL stud Qb? Everything I've seen from looks like he's not really ready to settle down so I'm sure he's enjoying his young wealthy life.

Just a thought.

I bet TMD is riding Blake's jock like a bicycle now though.

I really liked Carr coming out of college. Fresno is not far from me so I watched him play more then others. I thought he had the best arm talent of the QBs, I would argue he still does, and just liked his game all around.

I sure am glad the tinhorns didn't take either Bortles or Carr, or even Bridgewater for that matter, but the Bortles and Carr for sure.

Any of those guys against our defense right now, YIKES!!!!!!

Even better that their #1 pick hasn't really done much in nearly 2 years in the NFL, although he was injured most of the first year.

I survived the Gus Bradley Error.

He is all over Bortles at this point....he can't say enough good things.

Of course he hates Bradley....shocking.  Then he tries to say that everyone supports Bradley 100% because we think a lot of what he says is idiotic.   I have told him numerous times on our fantasy football chat that I am not a fan of Bradley and want to move on, but he continues to act like I don't say it.

Surprisingly, he hasn't turned on Caldwell yet.

Quote:OOps, I actually forgot Manning was pre 20 years....he's just seems to have been playing forever...haha.

Obviously, I mean post Manning.

I think Bridgewater is a better prospect than the rest since Manning was drafted....better prospect than Ben & Aaron. Now, obviously doesn't necessarily mean he'll be better pro than those 2, - I think he will be at least as good, but as a prospect, I think Bridgewater is better now than where those 2 were at this point.
lol, oh boy.  2nd best QB prospect in the last 20 years and every team in the league skipped him lol

Wait, you think Clowney has a high probability of being a bust but not Bortles?

Ha. HA! HAHAHAHAHA!

Quote:I think Bortles can be successful in the NFL as long as he plays for a good team that can take advantage of his game manager skill set. He will be best off getting drafted by a team with a good vet starting so he can learn and take over. I wish I could put him on the Vikings right now.

Lol! Oh, the irony. Bwahahaha

Anyway,, Vagrantwade had the team and situation exactly correct. He just needed to switch which QB he was sending to the Vikings.

Good to see other people recognize Bortles' NFL potential in that South Carolina game. So many people dismissed that game as nothing, but his performance in the game caused me to follow UCF the rest of the season.

This was true for me too. He looked like a guy who plays his best when it matters most. He looked the complete opposite of what we had at the time.

I had a similar experience watching the Louisville game.   I was looking at him as a second round-type-of-prospect at that point, but his resiliency in the 4th quarter was impressive.   It really put him on my radar in terms of a potential pick for the Jags.

What's always hilarious about digging up these old threads is not the people with wrong opinions, everyone has a guy they like or dislike, but it's the posters with this over the top fervor in which they claim to KNOW, without a doubt, who will bust and who will succeed and mock those who disagree with them.

The bravado of some of these folks is incredible!

Personally, I like the ones that have sources.

This is outstanding! Armchair GMs taking such strong positions, and being very wrong. Overall, there were quite a few good predictions in this thread, it just makes me realize the value in having a GM like DC. Dave and his staff have done a really good job overall, especially in this particular draft!

Couple things stood out to me regarding this thread.

1. I miss Jungle Cat. I mean, where can you go nowadays when you want something really looney. Not just a "my sources tell me..." thing, but one of those posts that is packed full of diatribe so off the wall that you wonder if the guy is visiting more than one forum at a time and got his windows confused.

2. NYC4Jags is so dum that he makes Rico look less Stoopid.

I'm trying to make myself more informed and less opinionated.

Stop saying whatever stupid thing you're talking about and pay attention to all the interesting things I have to say!
