Couple things stood out to me regarding this thread.

 

1. I miss Jungle Cat. I mean, where can you go nowadays when you want something really looney. Not just a "my sources tell me..." thing, but one of those posts that is packed full of diatribe so off the wall that you wonder if the guy is visiting more than one forum at a time and got his windows confused.

 

2. NYC4Jags is <a class="bbc_url" href='http://jungle.jaguars.com/index.php?/topic/297-blake-bortles-qb-ucf/page-13#entry136283'>so dum</a> that he makes Rico look less Stoopid.

I really thought his whole weird tongue and jaw shifting thing was nerves when I saw that.

Now I know its just how he acts naturally.

I remember Chris Johnson having a similar issue. He has a facial tick that a lot of Scouts and Evaluators interpreted as him immature since he couldn't seemingly sit still. I think stuff like this just drives home the idea that trying to evaluate these guys is really, really tricky and even the best of 'em out there screw it up from time to time.

BTDUBS: I wasn't referring to NYC in my remark about people's bravado. I was talking more along the lines of posters like "those who shall not be named". Trust me, I didn't want Bortles at 5 either. When he was called as our pick I said, and I quote, "THAT TOOL?!?!".

Oh, I knew you weren't referring to him. And I trust that he knows I was only busting on him in a good natured way. I was convinced that it was going to either by Sammy Watkins or Khalil Mack in that draft, so when Bortles name came up, I was totally flabbergasted. I mean, it took me almost a whole minute to order another beer!

 

And yeah, some of the statements in this thread take narcissism to a whole 'nother level.

What's always hilarious about digging up these old threads is not the people with wrong opinions, everyone has a guy they like or dislike, but it's the posters with this over the top fervor in which they claim to KNOW, without a doubt, who will bust and who will succeed and mock those who disagree with them.

 

The bravado of some of these folks is incredible!

What strikes me is the stroooooong takes after watching 5 minutes of YouTube clips.


And also, everyone knows that the BEST mock drafts might get 5-7 picks right in the first round but then you have this insistence by some that there's no way that player X can rise or fall to team Y. Noooooooooooo way I say!
